If they added seats on the bench side of the Colonial Arena that would only affect the parking lot to the side of the arena and would create a sort of contiguous bowl... If they added seats to the Olympic side and retrofitted it to NCAA standards that would take out the Stadium Rink. It would seem that the former is a better option than the latter. as far as ACHA local teams converting to NCAA such as Arizona State (and perhaps UNLV someday with the explosion of hockey popularity in Vegas/sharing a rink with the VGK) did I’d love to see it as a Pitt grad but doubt it happens ever. CHMA games don’t draw (the model isn’t made to draw fans it’s just to play post high school pre beer league haha) and club sports don’t make any money for the university aside from the fees they pay to use the name and logo or whatever. If any ACHA schools are primed to go NCAA I’d wager on Kent or Ohio U but I’m just pulling those out of thin air since they recruit decently among ACHA players.

What does Robert Morris draw per game (I guess I could look that up). I’m always surprised that they never ponied up or petitioned for a new barn. The ISC is still the second “best” rink in the region next to UPMC but if I were a kid being recruited I would take one look at ISC and think about going somewhere else judging by the capacity.

AAA Hornets 15 beat the Indy Fuel and Erie Jr. Otters handily at the MLHA Classic this weekend. They lost by a goal to Preds u15 AAA as well. The 14AAs beat the Houston Wild and I believe there are some of the same players rostered. I’d say check out the games in this classic. AAA and AA . Final day is tomorrow.

I wonder how Esmark would fare against the USPHL Vengeance. Would be a close game IMO

I almost think that it’s time for either county sheriffs or county police or constables at the very least to be sent to PAHL and MHT/HT tournament games. Parental behavior from what I’ve seen in my kids’ games has been abhorrent at times and there’s no recourse for parents. Fights, arguments, I think a guy hit a woman once, that’s why I stand in the corner or watch in lobbies if I can. No need. ADM games can sometimes stoke the passion of parents. Not to hijack the thread but ADM brings out the worst a lot because fans are constantly shifting to the three sections of the rink and intermingle. Mites fall a LOT. I wonder if any 8u’s have ever received a match?

Ice Castle is having a MyHockey tournament (they just got LiveBarn) and the Alpha Tournament is spread over Alpha, PIA, and the rink at Shadyside Academy. So you’ll likely get to see some hockey at PIA assuming they have LiveBarn and definitely Ice Castle. Oh, and Center Ice is also hosting a Hockey Time Tournament.
