  1. I don't really care where people sit and if they intermingle. It should never come to that! Can't hear what the Latrobe fan was saying but who cares. Bottom line is just walk away! At the end of the day these people are all going to feel really stupid for what they did in the heat of a moment.
  2. I thought all AAA was Tier 1? Tier 2 is AA, A? How can it be different if all roads lead to USA Hockey National tournaments?
  3. I'm just starting to understand all the AAA, AA, A divisions in USA Hockey. Next I'm going to have to understand the ACHA and how it relates to NCAA Hockey. Is ACHA Hockey better quality than Division 3 Hockey? Both are non scholarship right? I guess I have a few more years for that if mine wants to still play by then.
  4. Made the news this morning and surprisingly the players name was mentioned in the news story so I'm guessing someone pressed charges. I'm guessing the player is also over 18. Not a good look for his future plans! And once again where was security all games are supposed to have?
  5. If it is as you say then the Latrobe parent should press charges against the Shaler Dad & Player for attacking him. It's one thing to talk trash and a whole different thing to attack someone for their talking. Just my opinion of course.
  6. Of course racism is just plain wrong in any setting. But I 'm not sure of what you are saying about your friends list! What does that mean. I'm glad you posted it just to show that there are still ignorant people in the world that are teaching their children to be racist. Maybe in your son's children's lifetimes there will be no racism. We can only hope and pray.
  7. What about the person in the stands who apparently engaged and goaded the player? Will he or she get banned from future PIHL events. If there is cell phone video it should be easy to identify this person or persons! If it was a Latrobe fan or parent shouldn't there program identify and somehow ban this person?
  8. Neshannock is playing great at the right time for sure. 4 teams fighting for 3 spots in the playoffs in the North. Neshannock, Burrell, Avonworth & Wilmington. One very good team is going to be left out. Too close to call. I think they all have 2 games left and have beaten each other.
  9. If it does I would be shocked because the younger ages are supposed to be development and fun!
  10. Double edged sword here. People are paying a lot of money to play. But I still think anything after 14 years old should have earned playing time. You earn playing time by working hard in practice and doing extra lessons and work off the ice to get better. Most kids just aren't going to get that much better at practice 1 or 2 hours a week. Play rec league if you want to play for fun. If your kid is not getting on the ice enough in games ask him if he wants to get better and put in the time to make it happen. Life is competition every day. Hockey is no different. People who work the hardest get rewarded.
  11. I agree 100%. By the time kids get to High School they should understand that the effort they put out in practice and games correlates to amount of playing time. Fact of life. Sports or not.
  12. Agree 100 Percent. Too many people on here only want to emphasize the negative! When there are a lot of kids in Western Pa just having fun playing hockey! If you notice most of the people who complain have kids who are out of hockey now. Maybe their kids didn't meet the parents expectations so the parents are bitter that they paid all that money just for their kids to have fun.
  13. OK, so who were they and how did they do?
  14. Is it better in High School Hockey? What about ACHA. Who sees them play?
  15. But I've watched some bad deck hockey as well. I'm pretty sure positioning doesn't come naturally. Seems it's something that really needs stressed.
  16. I agree that the speed on the ice is unique. I also think it is something that really needs to be practiced in groups. Knowing where to go without the puck seems to me to be real important.
  17. But isn't that something that could be worked on off ice? In the parking lot in the fall and then in quick ice sessions. One thing I don't like to see is kids standing around in a line waiting their turn for a drill.
  18. Ok,so could you define bee-hive hockey for this novice? I'm guessing it's when all the players bunch up! Thanks in advance from someone who never played the game and has not coached a team.
  19. Yes maybe a tie for #5 between Meadville and South Fayette, or a 3 way tie for #4 with Penn Trafford. It will all sort itself out soon enough. I sure hope Pittsburgh Hockey digest does some articles on playoff races as we come down to the wire. I always liked reading their analysis and articles.
