Hey you can worry about who is to blame and what punishment should be given out. That will take care of itself at this point. And I'm sure there will be dissatisfied people. I'm going to use this as a teaching moment to educate myself and my kids so that it doesn't happen to anyone again. I'll bet the Goalie feels that way also. Her mom has said so multiple times. She is a true athlete and a classy young lady who loves to play hockey.

I think we have heard enough about who is to blame. We all think we know what we would have done in the moment. Easiest thing in the world is to second guess. I know there are a lot of people who feel bad that they didn't step up in the moment! Time to step up now and educate ourselves and our kids on what is and isn't acceptable behavior. Can't change the past! Can only prepare and make the future better. Learn from mistakes and make things better.

Hey Sutton, Did you post this story anywhere else? It's amazing to me the attention it has received from the media and the buzz at rinks. Everyone in Western Pa is certainly aware of it now and talking about it. I would bet the ranch that this won't happen again in a Western Pa rink and no way it can be swept under the rug now. You may not get the justice you seek in this case but you sure have helped change the culture in the stands for PIHL Hockey going forward. Won't change crazy parents yelling at the refs but will make everyone more aware of the student sections.

Just listened to the Armstrong Coach on the news trying to say he didn't know what was being said. I would bet the ranch that the kids were talking about it between periods. His explanation doesn't seem sincere. Just my opinion.

Sutton, not doubting you but I'm not sure I see what you see in that clip. Obviously you were there and have a whole different take on the situation and I don't think you will be satisfied until Armstrong is banned from ever playing hockey again. Sounds like you would be happy for the whole school to go be banned from sports!

I'm not sure why you think the outrage should be focused toward the Armstrong Hockey team? Why should a player or coach be punished? Do you think it was their job to police the crowd?

Saucey, you are giving some great shoutouts to some really great people. I couldn't agree more. I also want to recognize all the people on that Armstrong thread who wouldn't let it go away. Hopefully they helped to keep the situation in the spotlight till it was addressed. I think every Hockey Association will be paying a little more attention to their Student sections in the future. But I sure don't want to discourage the students and fans from coming out and cheering their teams.

The stripes are the most important people and there is no way that they get paid enough for what they do and have to endure so that our kids can play the game. I do disagree with them at times but I always respect what they do.

I think you are going to see some great support for that 16 year old girl in the hockey community. She has been playing goalie for mixed teams since she was 9 years old and a lot of kids have played with her and respect her. Hopefully we will all learn a lesson from this and stop things like this from happening before they get to this level in the future. We are all responsible!

I understand what you are saying now! Guess I'm a little slow! Thought you were talking about the fact that they won't face some type of repercussions. It is a travesty that it wasn't addressed on the spot. But something needs done to let everyone know this shouldn't be tolerated anywhere. I also can't believe it didn't make the local news!

"hockey players are being targeted and getting threats" Seriously? Other than Sutton no one on this thread said anything negative about the Hockey Team. Seems like you have an issue with the Football Team. Not sure where I see that Armstrong Hockey is being targeted here. It seems that we are all saying that security and the school should address this issue. From what you said it sounds like the High School Principal is aware of it and addressed the situation. Not to your satisfaction! I guess we will see if there is any other fallout from this. To early to tell!

Is the PIHL Board meeting on November 10th open to the public? I see it is an in person meeting. The goalie from Mars should go to that meeting and ask them if they are going to address the situation.
