Why would the rink get backlash? Their responsibility ends with renting the ice. They don't tell you how you have to use the ice. Just seems to me that there is no mechanism to enforce the mandates as they stand now.

So are the Vengeance playing this year in the USPHL? Couldn't find anything on their website about this years team.

Whose attention is it going to catch. Wolf? Is he going to send the State Police to shut down a hockey game and then fine the organizations of the teams playing? Will he be able to fine out of state teams and organizations?

Alpha was open before Rinks were allowed to be open. Check livebarn on Saturday at rinks around the area and see how many teams are playing with full rosters. We haven't heard of any teams or organizations shutting down because of Covid outbreaks. This all is very annoying!

Absolutely not suggesting that anyone lie about how many people are on the ice. I just want to understand how MidAm/USA Hockey knows who to sanction and who not to. Because obviously teams are playing with full rosters in western pa.

I agree with what you are saying. So then are score sheets turned into the MIDAM/USA Hockey? Is that how they would know if there were more than 25 in attendance? Agree that the State mandate needs changed.

Are they age group? I know they bring kids in and have Billet families. Is it the same as Esmark? Do the kids have to pay to play for the "junior" team?

I believe the Vengeance teams are all considered AAA They play independant schedules. SCIR has no AAA teams.

Do we think the Governor is going to fine and shut down individual teams and organizations that are playing with 36 to 40 people near the ice? 12 on the ice and 18 on the team benches. Both are under 25. Splitting hairs but the rule is stupid anyway.

I think the Governor would have a real hard time enforcing the 25 person limit for indoor sports if all the leagues PAHL DVHL etc got together on it. Besides who is in charge of enforcing the rules? Certainly not the rinks. They rent the ice and as long as they are at 50% of capacity I don't see how they could be shut down. The question becomes is someone from PAHL and PIHL going to be the enforcer?

Do you have a complaint about the Vengeance and SCIR? All I know is that the Vengeance took a lot of the SCIR kids at Bantam when they first started the 06 AAA team.

Puckcovid19, Do you know if the player that tested positive for Covid at South Fayette is back on the ice yet and did they have any additional cases? did any of the other players have to isolate?

It needs to pass with a 2/3rds majority just to set the precedent and hopefully get the indoor number adjusted upwards of 50 for amateur sports or base it on percent of total capacity in recreation facilities indoors.

It might have an effect on PIHL Hockey in as much as it is school related and in most cases sanctioned by the school.

How are you going to feel when the media tells us the pandemic is finally over and there are no ice rinks, restaurants or bars to go to because they went out of business because of government mandates? Is the media going to publish the number of flu cases and related deaths this year? When are they going to stop publishing the numbers of Covid cases? When it no longer gets clicks!

Hopefully the parents are smart enough to social distance and wear masks. I would be shocked if we hear of an outbreak at PAHL organization team. By outbreak I would mean more than 5 kids on a team. There is no incentive for them to report it as a team. Problem being that the media would jump all over it. In my opinion the media is the problem here. They love to sensationalize the virus.

Sounds like you have a bone to pick with the Vengeance. Don't know enough about their teams to make an evaluation of the situation. I only heard that they were practicing all spring. Did your kid not make the team?

Yes I was thinking the same thing about the NBA players. Cracks me up that they were considering canceling the rest of their season like it would really hurt anyone.
