  1. Wow, sounds like 2 teams out of control. Last time I checked 2 wrongs don't make a right! Of course high stakes squirt and pee wee hockey bring out the worst in parents.
  2. How many are at large bids? Which 2 didn't make it?
  3. Actually thanks for the specifics! Sounds like some of those parents went off the rails. Good to put it out there. I sure hope their organization reads this and talks to those parents. What you described is totally unacceptable behavior. Even if it's just a couple of parents the rest of them should tell those parents it's unacceptable. At the end of the day it's only a game and the kids are supposed to be having fun and learning good sportsmanship.
  4. So did that team beat yours? Seems like the Aviators are building back into a solid program. Nice to see a smaller program have success. What makes the Aviator parents any crazier than any others? Just curious!
  5. I'm just really disappointed that no one is talking about D-2 Hockey! The Ringgold, Canevin game was probably the best of the finals. Didn't even get a write up in the paper. It's like it doesn't exist. I commend those 12 schools for trying to have a Hockey program for the kids. Even if they don't have enough from one school. I watched all 4 final games on Trib-Live. They did a great job. From what I saw D-2 was very competitive. Not as deep as the other Divisions. But to not even get a mention in the paper is sad. Who ever knows Keith Barnes from the Post Gazette should ask him why he doesn't cover D-2. PA Hockey do you know him? Oh and good luck to Canevin at the High School Hockey Nationals. I hope they represent SWPA well. Probably won't hear about any results unless you look.
  6. The older you get the harder it is to make PPE teams. They invite kids to the tryouts. Unless you are invited you have very little chance to make it. Most AAA teams around here are stocked by kids who once played PPE and were cut for whatever reason. Some of those teams are almost as good as PPE. How many PPE teams made it to Nationals this year? Maybe 1?
  7. Game Managers need to check the rosters better moving forward. Needs to be a better check. Hard to know for sure who is on the bench. I like the idea of signing in before the game in front of the game manager. Still can cheat but it would be a lot harder. I bet if you looked closely at other teams with AAA players you will find a lot listed that didn't play enough games. As long as there are championships to be had there will be people who try to cheat to win! Dozens of Pro examples for sure!
  8. Saucey, what level did your son play? How many schools is he looking at? Is he still applying to schools? Please let us know how this all is going? Thanks for sharing!
  9. Who really cares? It's over! Let the Montour folks think and talk about what could have been. It's all they have! So SAD!
  10. It's a shame that you can't find results of the D-2 Tournament on the PIHL home page! They have the list of games and results for the other divisions. Hey PIHL D-2 schools pay the fees. Why treat them so bad?
  11. All I get is a circling like tit is working. Tried it on 2 different computers. Must be me!
  12. MidAm website for results and info still not working! So annoying! Do they even care?
  13. Don't worry haven't been able to access it again since early this morning. Just get circles! Ugh
  14. I see the MidAm tournament info can be accessed from their home page! About time!
  15. You are right! I completely forgot about the competitive balance rule in football! Way to many rules in the PIAA. Does that only apply to Football.
  16. The PIAA goes strictly on enrollment. Regardless of competitive balance. PIHL attempts to use a competitive balance for A and AA. Never totally fair because numbers of players can change so much year to year.
  17. Pickle, great input thanks! I'm going to have to read it a few times to understand it all. But very interesting for sure.
  18. Pretty hard to believe there were no suspensions handed out for the on ice fights!
  19. I can tell you for a fact that the 14U, 16U & 18U AA teams got one practice per week. 3 out of 4 weeks per month were 1/2 ice. I could understand that for A high school friendly but not AA. Especially when they told the kids they would get at least 2 practices a week. Only program I know of that gets one AA practice a week. I have heard more than 1 Preds AA parent complain. Ask before tryouts! Don't let them lie to you.
  20. Don't know if interest fizzled as much as it becomes a dead issue. No one is going to care much now that playoffs are well under way. PIHL might have to try and clarify the rule better if possible. Ultimately the kids who just wanted to play hockey are the collateral damage in all this. I think the Covid cancellation of the finals was worse.
