Are the games starting up again next weekend? There are tons of kids who haven’t been on the ice at all since Dec 5-6. Mt Lebo isn’t even opening their rink until Jan 9th-so those kids wouldn’t even get a practice in

Does anyone know the plan of what PAHL plans to do with the season? Extending it? Rescheduling all games?

Lots of high schools have now canceled winter sports until the third week of January now. But this is going to conflict with track, baseball, and other spring sports if extended

Bairl also posted on their website they changed their policy back to not requiring it on the ice after the governor posted on his personal site that while wearing a helmet and mouth guard with a mask during a cardio activity, it is not safe for an athlete according to the CDC

Based on the governor's 11/19/20 clarification on masks for youth athletes, the PAHL will continue to recommend masking at all times per the PA Guidance, but will defer to the athlete's choice only while they are wearing their helmet and mouth guard: According to Section 3, the athlete would be asked to work through alternatives that would reduce or eliminate the respiratory droplets that would impact others in proximity. If the sport, equipment, or exertion level does not allow for face covering to be worn safely then the athlete should not wear a face covering. Please refer to the full PA Guidance for Sports document updated 11/19/20 and posted on the PAHL website. https://www.pahockey.com/covid19 Athletes must continue to mask when not on the ice/bench for game play. All coaches, admin, and spectators must mask and social distance. Do not allow them to be non compliant and risk shutting our youth sport down. Finally, there may still be facilities that will require a mask during game play unless you have a medical excuse. Your player will have to wear one at these locations during game play until such time as they amend their rules. Always check before you travel as this is a moving target and may continually be updated.

Masks aren’t required on the ice anymore for PAHL. There was an addendum added to the policy. Just on the bench and off the ice.

PSAC sports practices cannot be held when it is raining due to the ineffectiveness of masks when wet.

Look at the Varsity schedules on PIHL and see how many games say Postponed.

School hockey programs are being shut down right now

Sadly if he “isn’t aware” of the setup of hockey and did this unknowingly, he still made families spend lots of money that didn’t need to be spent to travel to Virginia, Ohio, etc. the last few weekends to get games in. Besides the money the people spent traveling to play hockey, he also unknowingly contributed then to a few hundred families who went to Ohio and Virginia and then returned back to PA and into the schools and rinks this week bringing back any virus such as covid.

If it was MidAm and USA Hockey then Ohio wouldn’t be able to be having games like they are.

Have any kids in our area died that have been playing hockey in these rinks with the same people since May? Or playing baseball and softball and basketball since May? Kids have been playing sports for over 4 months now.

Going to a hockey game, a bar, or a restaurant is a choice. If anyone wants to stay locked in for the next year, then they can do so. But nobody is forcing anyone to meet a friend for a beer without eating a sandwich at the same time or having your kid play 5 on 5 hockey with 15 players in a team. it is a personal choice

Nobody is forcing anyone to play hockey or any sports. It is completely elective and everyone’s own choice. It is frustrating when people are forced to have regulations for a hockey rink when there aren’t any for many other establishments (Walmart, Rivers casino, Jennerstown, Motorcross, Carlisle Car Show, etc.) All is these are elective to go to.

From our hockey org: So, why is Sanctioning important? Because aside from giving us the playing rules and structure under which we operate, USA Hockey provides insurance to cover our players and coaches. This insurance is designed to help participants cover medical expense after they have paid a certain deductible out of their own pocket. Also, USA Hockey provides coverage for catastrophic incidents. Please see pages 5 through 10 of the attached Insurance Handbook. This insurance coverage is vital to every hockey organization. While severe injuries are rare, they do happen. They have happened locally to individuals playing in the Pittsburgh area. So, we are telling our teams to comply with the 25 person rule when they do any sort of scrimmages. To accomplish this, We are saying to play 9 skaters and 1 goalie on each team. Throw in the refs, EMT, and one person in the scorebox, and we will be around the 25. Is this ideal? Absolutely not, and we are working to overcome it.

Who sued them? DW who owns the Frozen Pond???!!

Last year their 09 Vengeance did well in AA division but this year the 2010 Vengeance is really struggling in the 2009 AA division

Someone said that they have to contract with another group because vengeance is a junior team that requires them to use a different system?? Maybe something hockey tv?? Not sure; just mentioned by someone else when we talked about this
