Correct. For a tier 1 midget game it’s 50 min, if you are playing in a league like the hphl, t1ehl etc scouts have to be accountant for, advisors, affiliates etc. if it’s a run of mill independent tier 1 midget game - 40 players, 4 coaches, score keeper, emt plus 3-4 on ice officials depending on the state or club hosting. Don’t forget about frank zamboni, most tier 1 games have two ice cuts.

You have never coached at the AA level let alone tier 1 or junior hockey. You don’t understand what it like being around kids that start to take the game serious. Stick to mites that are having fun.

Called one of mine. I was able to reach my local state senator, I was surprised he listened. Not much feedback but I was the first person he had heard anything like this from, the man did not understand club sports, he assumed hockey was part of piaa. Hoping I was able to enlighten him. My brother didn’t have as much luck. His state senator was a woman named Kulik (not sure on the spelling he lives in moon) he did not speak with her. Kulik’s office told him they expect all sports to get canceled anyway, covid is to dangerous. he got the feeling kulik’s office was sour about football playing. make your voices heard! use your vote! I’m hoping to see my niece play her first squirt game this year!

ALL, here is the best thing you can do if you want to see your kids play hockey this year. This is coming straight from a USA Hockey friend - tell folks in PA to contact their local officials, State Representatives, and / or Senators to help raise the gathering limit for indoor sports to 50. There is nothing magical about 1/1/21, that date is nothing more than a place holder by the PA Governor following political party lines. PIAA did get some help from PA state politicians to get football going.

14 years old - my oldest played with a kid from Michigan that died from the flu when it turned into his chest. Kid had no health issues, just a bad turn with the regular flu.

It’s my understanding pihl is just watching the landscape right now when it comes to varsity hockey. MS & JV will play similar to the Pahl plan. For you varsity folks, I don’t see this as a bad thing, unless they are just kicking the can down the road waiting to cancel it all.

PIHL - varsity postponed, there may be clarity tomorrow. I suspect they will wait to see what PIAA does about basketball. ( I am taking a guess with this, will they ride on the back of PIAA) When does varsity basketball start ? They could be postponing hoping the 25 limit gets lifted soon. Regardless current word is postponed.

Here is a thought - between the piaa & wpial what are their plans for basketball this season ? like hockey, the sport is played 5 on 5. Like hockey there is physical play, no hitting but lots of bodies rubbing off each other. the argument can be made covid exposure would be higher for basketball. Similar amount of players on the bench as hockey. Score keeper, refs. It has to be very close to the same numbers as a hockey game.
