hockey Canada is suppose announce this week they are opening up June 1st, will USA hockey follow the lead this early ? Denver is a very liberal area. It’s rumored USA teams will not be allowed to travel in this season to play along with USA players playing in Canada. The chl put out a letter today claiming there is no truth to these restrictions, it’s just rumors.

Because it was only one, now there are a handful, people’s feelings are hurt - being left out. If their superstar kid can’t get on the ice, then nobody should be allowed. Typical of most parents.

Lol - disadvantage ? There are two other rinks open. This may surprise some of you, ppe is buying ice at this rink! Getting on the ice one or two days a week a few weeks before others doesn’t matter. If your kid takes hockey serious (not you) he or she is doing off ice right now, that’s way more important than skating in May. My oldest never played hockey in the spring and summer. He played baseball and ran track a few years. At 16 he quit baseball to focus more on hockey, that time was still spent off the ice not on it.

The rinks have been ready to go, I know a few people in Toledo that will start skating this weekend. Lessons, open skates and even beer league will start back up.

Community owned rinks will not open at all until green, the private owned rinks ALL are operating as speak easy. There are teams being put together from aaa Down to Pahl as I type.

@The King you just made me think when you mentioned the parents. I would bet whomever came here & posted about alpha selling private ice - their kid didn’t get invited, now they want justice!

What insurance company ? These rinks are selling private non sanctioned ice slots. The rinks insurance is for liability only, it’s like going to a baseball game and getting hit with foul ball. Need stitches ? Your insurance covers it.

Like I said, my local gym is opening Friday even though gyms are not suppose to.what we are going to end up with very soon is a battle between private and public sectors. Business will walk the line. Get ready for the speak easy to return!

If it’s private as the original poster said, I don’t see a problem with it. As I stated above, at least they waited until yellow. Under red I know two other rinks that have been selling private ice. I know a skills coach who has been Doing small groups since the first week of April. my local gym is opening Friday. The owner is Capping it at 20 people at a time, you schedule when you would like to work out, the slots are 1 hour each.

It’s been happening at other rinks now for a few weeks. At least ##### waited until yellow when you can have groups of 25 gather.

Their own, just like renting ice for a private birthday party.

Typical lib, I live in beaver county. It’s cleaner than Allegheny, all the problem is one nursing home. Quarantine the home and workers. The pandemic is bs to begin with, go read about the Hong Kong flu, it’s a similar virus.

I agree. In the 60’s we had the Hong Kong flu which is turning out to be similar to covid. Our government did not shut anything down. Just like covid, most deaths came to the unfortunate people that were at risk. This covid “crisis” has turned into nothing more than political bs at this point. This will drag out until the election.

Pa state reps are guessing it’s 10-12 weeks for a county to go green after yellow (if everything goes well). Currently yellow is not much different than red, still no gyms, restaurants etc. I would assume rinks fall under this. 10-12 weeks takes things into late August. Will the kids even be back in school under this time frame ? I have a feeling hockey, football etc won’t be starting anytime in the near future. Forget about USA hockey, I don’t see rinks opening until green.

I have a feeling a few influential parents have kids on two of the teams. Word From pa state reps in Harrisburg - they are guessing it will be between 10-12 weeks for counties to go from yellow to green (if things go well) If this is true that takes us into late August. Forget these games, focus on trying to have a 20-21 season. I don’t think there will be any tryouts until September at the earliest.

Wolf doesn’t open beaver county, that’s crazy. This guy is out of his mind, he just stated he’s using science to re open but when ask the yellow guidelines he didn’t know them all and said refer to faq. He’s just winging it at this point. Ultimately yellow says no youth sports. Im guessing rinks will stay closed.

Sounds like BS to me. Dave & Yuri have been together for 15 or so years. In the same breath I’ll add this - a lot of the north hills board members are esmark parents. Posey, to my knowledge has nothing to do with esmark. He coached a young vipers team ? Along with doing skill sessions out there in crackhead land. Who owns that rink these days ?

Look at the people that do lessons there, they don’t have a great track record for following any rules. Who owns that place these days ?

Mid am just officially pushed the shut down to June 15th now, It was suppose to be lifted May 15th.
