Here is an old but interesting discussion about icing on the pk. Article I think it's an interesting idea to give the kids a limited number of icing chances but hard for refs to keep track.

Only thing I would add is that I have seen a lot of squirt parents who seriously think their kid is going to the pros

I'm not sure anyone said it was your son. Went back and read and no one did. The kid from the other team(and you) learned a lesson. Hopefully the refs are reading and learned one too.

Also what the hell are you playing with a broken stick? Definitely not hockey

Yep always a penalty. Drop the stick and skate away. Surprised if anyone called it at squirt level but a good rule to be aware and teach the kids. Accidents happen it's the hockey equivalent of running with the pencil towards your eye

I wish I had known ahead of time and I would have went even though they are "just squirts" I bet it was a fun game regardless. Hope the parents on both sides behaved themselves as becoming AAA hockey ?

I just remembered this thread - according to MyHockeyRankings ppe 08 beat the vengeance this past weekend. Guess they weren't just ranked higher because they "played better teams".

If the issue is they can't get talent to try out, you can't blame then for trying but maybe they need to modify the message a bit and claim to be a AA team with more ice time?

According to the new rankings, the Pens Elite 08 have leapfrogged the Vengeance 08 team (part of the original poster's initial gripe.)

On a different note it sure seems like Pittsburgh area 06 teams are stacked. Several teams doing very well per the "rankings" both pens elite and other local AA teams

I wondered the same thing. I only knew a couple and they played at least two sports. Maybe not overlapping - maybe it only means football and hockey?

Are there still rules about identifying individual players? Lots of identifying info up above. I honestly couldn't find the rules on the mobile version

Is there an 07 Vengeance team?

Looking at MyHockeyRankings, it looks like the 08 elite have played a lot tougher competition, on average, than the Vengeance 08 and are only 1 removed from each other on the rankings. I think they need to play more to sort out which is better for the season. It does make a good point that a) they should play each other and b) just think if you combined the top half of both teams how good they might be.

Where's mom to tell us how it was just kids being kids?

This is a big one. We should, as parents, stop acting like our 14 year old kid just can't help taking a game misconduct by using his stick as a baseball bat.

Sounds like a "brawl" in every other game this year. Then people asking why there are fewer FPP being awarded...must be the refs lol

Check the scoresheet.....oh wait, for some reason they are off the PAHL website.

But Little Johnnytm didnt score any goals in the last game we can't let the NHL scouts see that. Honestly though, hiding the game sheets is really annoying. Is there no way for coaches or other registered users to still get access?
