It's also hard because many of the larger teams are rotating players for these games. I know Lebo was and I believe TJ was too? Hard to say what players are on for some of these wins and losses.

If you don't think PPE are money grabbers you live in a different reality. Regardless of what they are ranked, their entire model is built around money grabbing.

I know this differs by age but I think the AHF folks have to start fielding a better top to bottom ranked teams for the switch to happen. We thought about it for one of my kids teams but PAHL was better competition so why add the travel? A showcase or two is one thing but what if you have to play a season?

In my opinion this would rely on the coach and price point. The big negative is the travel to make all the league play. Positive might be playing the local THF teams. Preds are already in the THF.

So they bought the rink and dropped it to one sheet? Or is there a maintenance reason it's down to one?

In all honesty I assumed (maybe wrongly) that they would schedule the vast majority of games on the other sheet with bleachers and the bar and this would be a sheet for practices, open skate, figure skating, etc. Then seating not really an issue?

Didn't even look into it this year but I had sticker shock last year.

Yes, I think it isn't a hard and fast rule but it also may make a school think twice before contacting you out of the blue. I wouldn't suggest it if someone came asking my advice. Talk to several schools. If Penn State is interested in you I'm sure others are too. Play hard to get for a while and check out your options.

No speaking for @Danner27but often these verbal commits don't work out because the University will withdraw the offer closer to the actual Freshman year when they get better players to commit. They aren't obligated to actually take you, but it also limits other Universities from talking to you so you can get screwed doing it too early.

Getting close to the start of the preseason, who is going to be good in PIHL this year? Thoughts and speculation? Obviously Peters is the returning AAA champs but they lost a couple of their stars? Curious what people are thinking about who will be strong and weak.

Add to this the bottom half of most of the "AAA" teams are actually AA players and you will see plenty of pucks bouncing off sticks there too.

I would agree with you - maybe even at the bantam major level (I'm on the fence) but definitely not the bantam minor year.

They probably should just be happy they didn't waste their time and money on a meaningless camp.

Also see 3ice where the Prince of ice castle played last year (at least in Pittsburgh). How that stuff makes money beats me!

If your parents throw in 10k a piece (likely less then they are paying for faux AAA at lower levels) a couple sponsorships get you all the ice you need and your parents might even save money based on travel + whatever they were doing before.
