  1. @TourneyGuy please post a link to the 18 schedule
  2. Please post the 18AA schedule so we have something to watch this weekend
  3. Had the call with MidAm last night. They aren't changing the date of the MidAms... Then got an email from Darcee and the PAHL- they aren't changing their playoff dates either. So good luck to all of you rescheduling your games at the AA level. We have 16 games to play between now and 2/22, and 6 to reschedule. A big thank you to these entrenched orgs.
  4. I am so tired of the MidAm bureaucracy. Same old $hit as the PAHL. No fresh faces can ever get into any of those organizations to provide a fresh prospective. I really hope the MidAm keeps their dates as-is so that it F's up everyone's schedules. That would be fitting of such a prestigious group. I actually think it's harder to volunteer/work for MidAm than it is to run for public office.
  5. Can games be rescheduled the weekend of Feb 27/28?? in otherwords are the PAHL playoffs bumped back??
  6. Complete stupidity. Might as while make a rule that every team in a tourney gets a banner, trophy, and medals. So glad this is our last year of youth hockey.
  7. And if you're a female and are on PPE and don't go to SSA, then you don't stay on PPE for long either unless you've got deep pockets and are lovey dovey with certain PPE personnel.
  8. This doesn't surprise me a bit... PPE are very self serving. Why look out for the kids best interests?? I know of at least one other local org (non AAA) that screws kids/families like that. It's a bunch of BS. If the kids aren't happy, then go away. Last thing I would do is force them to stay and pay. But then again money making isn't my first objective in hockey like some other teams who screw people.
  9. My team would be travelling to play this weekend if I could find a tourney within 6 hours of Pgh, but there are none. So we will have to wait. I have no problem with anyone travelling for hockey right now.
  10. Good lord, we’re still debating cases here? ?
  11. I sure hope not. This is one of the only sports still active for kids.
  12. I want to see one of these commies come and arrest me for not wearing a mask outside my house. Talk about potential a supreme court case...
  13. Masks help? Ok. Watch this video.
  14. You're quoting VOX? A left website? Please. https://www.allsides.com/news-source/vox-news-media-bias
  15. It's pretty clear that when the molecule size of the virus is smaller than the size of a facemask, that the facemasks are a fail. Secondly, man has survived 6 million years through viruses, disasters, etc. and has never had to wear facemasks or quarantine before. Therefore I ask why are we doing this now? Even a military enforced quarantine can't stop the virus https://www.aier.org/article/even-a-military-enforced-quarantine-cant-stop-the-virus-study-reveals/ Large Danish RCT N-4900 of masking for prevention of C19 infection FAILED, rather predictably (given influenza RCTs) with a non-significant & clinically IRRELEVANT “0.3%” absolute “risk reduction”. Published in preeminent internal medicine Ann Intern Med https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M20-6817
  16. The PAHL has just sent an email requiring all players to wear face diapers inside their helmets. I would like to see the State of PA and/or the PAHL show me a study where 1 single player has caught COVID while playing on the ice in a 38 degree building. what a crock.
  17. Give me a F*** break. There is NO STATISTIC that shows masks do ANYTHING. This is 100% politically driven.
  18. Dangit Jack, you got me. I WILL wear a mask while conducting armed robberies. That's my only exception!
  19. Outrageous. What ever happened to personal responsibility. I will not wear masks ANYWHERE. Go ahead and arrest me. This is all bull$hit that is politically driven.
  20. What a load a $hit this is.
  21. Was inquiring in the past about being part of mid-am. Not interested anymore...
  22. Nobody responded to me about how I can participate. ZERO response from the Midam. So, no, I didn't run as I couldn't run.
  23. I inquired several times over the years because I was interested in getting on the board and more specifically being a registrar. Guess what? No replies back to me. It seems like a lot of nepotism over there. You're either with the in crowd or you're not needed. I've given up trying to volunteer even though I have the time to do it. I'll use that time elsewhere.
  24. We are willing to take on 18uAA or AAA players for tourneys that our team is going to. We usually always have a few open spots for players. Direct message me for more info.
  25. Lagging video will not be cured by password protecting / locking down the Livebarn feeds. If some rinks are locking video in the thought that will increase/improve their video to other sheets in the building this is WAY off base. FACT: Users never directly access the cameras from LB. All video is compressed on the camera and sent from the cams up to LB and then aggregated there for mass viewing. One upload feed to LB - and from LB to users many feeds. Lag would be due to a few possible issues: 1) inadequate bandwidth on the internet connection (upstream bandwidth). In the case of Alpha, they have 3 surfaces (I don't know if all 3 have LB). But this means they would need a fairly decent internet connection to stream 3 feeds at once up to livebarn. I would guess at least 5mbit for each feed, so 3 would need roughly 15mbit upstream connection. 2) networking issues inside the building. That's because a lot of rinks have crappy/old switches, hubs, wifi access points (if at all)... instead of having gigabit ethernet inside the building. Not a lot of $$ here... 1000 ft. of high quality CAT7 ethernet shielded cable can be had for a few hundred. A good switch, $100-150. A good router that can give everyone in the building WIFI, $200-$500. When you watch a livebarn feed you DO NOT connect directly to that camera in the rink. You connect to a main feed server @ livebarn which rebroadcasts the feed in near real-time. Usually the live feed is a few seconds behind the ACTUAL live action. it takes a few seconds to send the data up, and then expose it for users to access (this is all behind the scenes). So in tech terms it looks like this: Camera in the rink -> switch/router in the rink -> out on the internet ->live barn users watching -> internet -> livebarn feeds So when you have a laggy video feed, it's most likely due to issues with that rink's setup. Livebarn is supposed to ensure the internet connection has enough upstream bandwidth to send a full sized HD image up to their servers, but we all know how a lot of these rinks operate on shoestring budgets. I had offered in the past to help a local rink troubleshoot their livebarn video feed and they never responded back to me. (yes, I am highly qualified to do that...) The rink I dealt with ran several LONG ethernet feeds across their building supports into crappy switches and then to a crappy old router and onto the internet. For starters you can't use a 10 year old router and expect performance, and you can't expect a solid ethernet connection on cheapo cable that you are going to run 300 feet from point to point. it's a shame these places go so damn cheap on the IT front when they have volunteers like me who could provide the expertise to do this the right way and it would last for many years, for only a few $ more than they already are spending.
