  1. Wow, I thought they did that for the squirt level for a total of 2 teams. Not 2 teams at each birth year. What a money grab. I mean I always thought 2 teams at the squirt level was a money grab, 2 teams at each BY is absolutely ridiculous. And I know the vengeance have a “AAA” BY team. Who else? And none of those BY teams will play each other and instead travel all over and spend soooo much more money for no real reason. Maybe out of all these “AAA” kids on all those teams 1 or 2 may make it to D1, and that may be a stretch.
  2. They have thirty kids listed as 2016 players, but not two teams listed. Does that mean they will have two teams and still haven’t decided the teams? If they have two teams for one me birth year will they both be considered AAA?
  3. When they won Pens Cups and State Championships I always thought he was over rated because he had soooo much talent and played in the lowest classification. I actually have come to see him as a better coach the last few years where he had solid teams without an abundance of high end talent but his teams were very competitive. They were very disciplined and played really well positionally. And he did build that program from the ground up.
  4. I imagine the club teams have something to do with it as the D1 and D2 men’s teams are getting dedicated locker rooms. That is from the article and what a player had told me.
  5. From a WVU player originally, then I looked it up and there is an article about it. And I do believe it is in Milan Park.
  6. WVU is building a new ice rink which is awesome for their programs. I thought maybe that it was an indication that they may move to have an NCAA team, but from what I can see it isn’t going to be any more than 800 seats. Clearly not big enough for a D1 NCAA program. Why would they spend all that money and not make it large enough for an NCAA team?
  7. Has QV ever had any other coach?
  8. My nerves couldn’t handle being a goalie parent, I imagine a lot of people feel the same way.😆
  9. Geregach in ECHL, 10 points in 12 games as a defenseman. Not PPE product, only played AAA at U18. There are more than one way to pros besides PPE.
  10. I agree with all of this except that if there weren’t as many AAA teams, then AA in the area would be extremely strong.
  11. As long as anyone can claim to be AAA without any qualifying criteria it will be a problem.
  12. I know you think anything other than the Pens is a waste, but kids have made it to D1 through Esmark. Maybe they didn’t win any games at MidAm this year, but they have put competitive teams and moved kids forward in the past. I am not ok with the added fees at the end of the year, but hopefully they will figure it out and not that happen again.
  13. Who needs approval? Anyone can claim to be AAA.
  14. Obviously if the coach that plays his kid is moving up then it wouldn’t be a problem, for this guy. It becomes a problem for the next team. People like this should not be coaching. If you are a coach at the squirt or pee wee level and don’t try to give equal playing time, or favor your kid overtly, you shouldn’t be on the bench. It is developmental hockey, everyone should play near equal amounts. Every kid should play different positions at this age. Every kid should be getting PK or PP time at this age. I know there are always exceptions. But in general, everyone should get opportunities to play in all situations at that age. And it should be a priority for every organization to make sure that coaches follow these guidelines. I know, I am dreaming. It happens in every sport at all levels.
