PIHO Falls

It’s funny to me to see everyone trash the former org for whatever reason - some deservedly so - but yet many of these amateur hockey organizations continually renewed contracts with them. If PIHO was such a terrible org run by such terrible people, what does that say about the folks who continued to entrust them and pay them on behalf of their members?  Just funny to me.

They had already lost Allegheny and were poised to lose more. A possible reason for their Operation Shutdown.

Someone needs to resurrect WPHOA and pretty dam fast.  Otherwise the next largest scheduling regime will follow the same steps as PIHO. Arrogant and condescending, good ole boy network. Every business needs competition and a competing NON-Profit is even better.

Wasn't the problem with WPHOA that it was a good ole boy network? I was under the impression it had many of the same issues, taking a while to pay the officials, not scheduling appropriately, etc.?

Might just be that it's too hard to run an organization that big and we might be better off just having local schedulers everywhere.

There already is another scheduling group that is not like PIHO or WPHOA.

You mean the same scheduling group that is owned by the president of PAHL?

There is a whole bunch of conflicting interests going on in this sentence alone ^^^.

You definitely have inaccurate information.

Sounds like the PIHL might be taking on official scheduling in house, this is something they used to do I think.

Do you think they will have an appointed scheduler or have teams do it independently?

Regardless of what they do, they are definitely looking at a difficult season at PIHL. Losing John Mucha was a huge hit to their structure as he was involved in every aspect. The new commissioner is just that, new. And incredibly inexperienced in the sport which may or may not be a good thing. In addition, other long-time members are also stepping down this year which will make things even more difficult. Hopefully everyone can get up to speed quickly and things will run smoothly but it's definitely cause for concern.
