So where do I go to find out where my kid "really is in the pecking order of players"? Who is the reputable source in Western PA? Or do I have to go somewhere else to get an honest assessment?

A 5 ft 98lb 06 from Shattuck St Marys was drafted. I know he is the exception. Plus the kid put up some great numbers for SHAHA AAA last year. Just thought he might go at the end of the draft. Same with a couple PPE kids. I guess it is true that you have to move away from here to really get noticed.

No sense getting him an agent cause he doesn't play for PPE!

What was I thinking! PPE is the only game in town! Everyone else should just quit playing cause they aren't going anywhere ever!

I think Foxes and North Pittsburgh are still having tryouts. After they are done there may be a few kids looking for teams. Maybe they should have a clearing house of sorts where players without a team could put there names in to be contacted. Or a regional tryout that any organization that still needs players could go to and draft or make offers to players, Or maybe some teams should combine and flip a coin as to what organization they play with. Just trying to think outside of the box!

Agree to some extent! But what if you are a bubble player and would like to play at the highest level you can but aren't sure if you will make a team.

So where did those AAA kids come from? If you say Preds, Icemen, Vengeance according to this site are they really AAA players?

So what is the best route? Just play PAHL closest to home at whatever level you are placed? Take some lessons from a reputable source and have fun!

So what? Do I just start calling Tier3 Junior teams till I find one with an opening or that is willing to take my player? Did I see on here somewhere, somebody said most Tier 3 teams don't have full rosters. Should I call those teams first?

Crickets on the site about David Morehouse leaving the Pens! Will this affect the Pens Elite program. Some on here have said it was just a way for his son to play hockey and get noticed. Anyone know of the new owners plana?

How many organizations will have supplemental tryouts? North Pittsburgh and Artic Foxes are starting Tryouts this weekend so there are still plenty of spots available on PAHL teams.

Obviously the 16U National Champs from SCIR will be moving up. I think that whole team was made up of 05's. They will be young but a heck of a team!

How could that be? According to Puckcovid19 there is very little talent in Western Pa! Must be less than that in Cleveland!

I guess Pittsburgh doesn't have any talent at all. Maybe what 2 or 3 AA teams at most Birth Years? Maybe 1 AAA team? Is that about right for your assessment? Just curious what makes you a hockey expert in SWPA talent?

Does anyone know if the Cleveland Barons have a team at the U16 level? Checked their website and it only goes to 15U. I wonder where the kids from Pittsburgh that went up there are playing next year? Just curious.

Great article in My Hockey Rankings "Maybe we shouldn't be in such a Rush to Pick our Teams for next year" I agree with it all. The only way it would change is by USA Hockey mandate! And even then there would be a ton more spring teams making back door offers for players in the fall!
