  1. I wish it was that simple. Gotta feel for Morgantown, Wheeling and Youngstown.
  2. I’m the opposite but respect your viewpoint when it comes to watching them play. If that continues to be the case I really can’t justify playing. Sports are our family time and bonding time. It’ll be more baseball and something else to fill the void.
  3. Anything over 25 people on the ice or arena will be a pipe dream. It’ll get reported and shut down ASAP.
  4. At this point I’m more concerned with being allowed to watch games than the style of hockey. I just enjoy watching my son play. It’s the highlight of my days. Rather watch him win or lose than any pro. Really not fond of driving 2-3 hours for the outlying pahl games just to sit in the parking lot.
  5. I’ll preface this by stating that if it becomes a limited roster game, it’s not my cup of tea...but...maybe this will give a paradigm shift from 4-5:1 game to practice ratio to something more reasonable.
  6. Nothing, other than they’ll probably have to do a lot of traveling to play full roster games. Problem is going to be finding rinks locally that’ll allow it.
  7. What case is there to making with the people who don’t want it to happen? Their stance is pretty well set.
  8. There is never a reason to give up one’s freedoms.
  9. There’s a few. I know of some that get $25-30k a year.
  10. Trust me, there are some districts and private schools that get more than a small amount of money from the schools.
  11. If you think it’s too dangerous, don’t do it ??‍♂️

  13. Hey at least there’s an opportunity for mid-state to save face if they shut down the season, after getting stomped by Allegheny 8-2 ish and 60-15 shots.
  14. Did anyone hear PAHL is axing the pre-season/placement games?
  15. Season isn’t going to happen. Just accept it or recall the Governor.
  16. Delaying til spring so they can be top dog on the ratings.
  17. Yeah you’re absolutely right. Even though school’s usually heisman their hockey teams, they’ll include them in something like this.
  18. I having a feeling this along with PSU’s stance on no fans for football will pretty much knock the State College market out of hockey this year. Government owned/funded facilities like Kirk Nevin, Ebensburg, Beaver, Hess, Indiana, Johnstown etc immediately come into jeopardy (given the response given to uncooperative officials in Lebanon county). Just my guesses. I’m a lot more pessimistic than optimistic right now.
  19. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see it happening start to finish for a variety of reasons. The least of which is that with the large portion of PAHL, PIHL and various tier teams coming from Allegheny county, I can definitely see them being on the chopping block for color code retrograding. Even if that doesn’t happen and rinks remain open, it’s going to be an uphill battle. ....Im going to try to make this post as my theory as to why as possible, not what I want or support happening.... Second, I’m not sure either league (as an entity) will be very bold in their stances along with Mid-Am and USA Hockey. We’re hours away from August, no further ahead than we were 6 months ago with these agencies. Third, although PIHL is club, many of the schools still have influence on their hockey teams and will either put rules into place that will outright ban competition if their district chooses to or make it extremely challenging to both comply with and compete. Further, it’s bound to happen where a team gets “decimated” by Covid/Corona/Chicom etc. Real, Imagined, Cooked Numbers whatever. There was an article on here earlier about a team. Once that happens. I can really see a lot of knee jerk reactions happening. I think...the Tier I programs will probably be the safest to make it happen, between financial resources and the drive to get through it. They might have to play an all road all the time schedule to do it. But they’re the mostly likely to imho. Scholastic programs are probably the greatest at risk. I guess we can only wait and see at this point.
  20. If we’re being honest here, there’s hardly enough to field a few legitimate tier II teams, and of those, some even can’t field teams at each level each year.
  21. I think when parents realize they’ll be making the 2-3 hour commute to the outer lying rinks to sit in parking lot and watch on livebarn if they’re lucky, they’ll be issues.
