  1. QV was 5 points out with 2 games left, what do they gain with Montour being disqualified? Nothing as there are 2 teams in front of them before Montour so the first round bye is out. Yes it would suck if kids lose out because of adult decisions but those same adults were given the power to make those choices for the kids by their parents. Like many people have said there are rules for a reason if Montour followed them and have the paperwork to prove then good for them and play on but if not oh well. Montour was already busted this year and served suspensions for an unrostered coach and dressing to many players for a game. I would say rostering a player that shouldn't have been on the team is not below this team or coaching staff.
  2. Not trying to get sympathy yet you keep pulling the dead commissioner card. Talking with a few of the Avonworth higher ups today they had no clue about what was going on until AFTER they lost last night and the North Catholic coach told them not to worry about playoffs. Most of the parents I know from Avonworth were just happy they had a chance after moving up a division and losing 4 of their 5 goalies. They used 10 Freshmen on their Varsity team this season. They were barely able to field 2 teams but made it work. From what it looks like they didn't cry about their schedule or only having 1 goalie all season, they just played and whatever happens, happens. Yes Avonworth would benefit from something happening to Montour but I haven't seen 1 person on this page (until this message) defending or fighting for Avonworth, just a bunch of (not involved) Montour parents crying foul to something that their organization MAY have known was illegal. If not , cool good luck in the playoffs.
  3. If that's the argument then McDowell's goalie is a 2003 playing against 07/08 kids. The kid is 20yrs old. He was also listed on the JV team.
  4. Because they expanded the girls teams and made the cult team for the older boys.
  5. I have seen plenty of 14yr old goalies playing multiple games a day and every once in awhile 3. There are plenty of club teams that only have 1 goalie. They had an emergency goalie also, your argument is invalid no matter how much you repeat yourself and stick your chest out. They had enough goalies and still chose to bring someone in.
  6. There were 6 games between JV and V that were on the same day and only 3 were actual conflicts as they were either played at the same time or different rink. Also 1 team plays 16 games and the other plays 20 so for you to have 10 consecutive years of JV and V playing on the same day the PIHL scheduler must hate you. Like people have pointed out Avonworth was able to handle it whether they had games on the same day or 5 in a week between JV and V their goalie made it happen. Avonworth also had an "emergency" backup just in case. They didn't go out and move a kid into the district which isn't that against PIHL rules and the kid would have to sit out a year anyways.
  7. Yes but that is hard when school hockey is not as important around here as it is in other parts of the country. That and a lot of the better kids don't/can't play school.
  8. 1 game in a tournament? I have seen teams win by 3 1 day and lose by 8 the next to the exact same team. The (4) divisions could be split better with 57 teams competing and almost half (23) are in A.
  9. So a disgruntled parent that is mad at a "real" coach for cutting her crappy kid that made Esmark because she was on the board. ✔️✔️✔️ If you were just happy to volunteer your time and would have done it without the stipend then you could have chose to decline it but you accepted it with no problem. It is your choice to take your kid wherever you/they want to play. If you don't like the Huskies because they made a deal before NHAHA then blame the board members for dragging their feet. You are upset because your kid didn't make Esmark when they brought a new coach in then why not have them try out for another AAA team right down the road? Probably because you knew your kid shouldn't have been on that team and that stipend was to good to pass up.
  10. Nothing to do with getting to the NHL, it's about listening to your coach when they ask you to do something and not be rewarded or defended by mommy and daddy just because they paid a few hundred dollars for their kid to play. If you want to pay someone hundreds to babysit I will do that on the side but if I am going to volunteer my time to help your kid learn a sport I expect them to listen when asked to do something and not be all over the place.
  11. I was talking about games not practices. The kids listen more in practices because they are made to be a little fun compared to games. The kids also should NOT be having that much fun at practice and should be taught at home to listen and not do whatever they want just because the parents forked over a few hundred dollars.
  12. Unless he was swearing at them, who cares. I coached Mites and some of the nicest parents I know would HAVE to scream at Mite kids because they don't listen for crap. You have little Johnny skating doing whatever he wants, Timmy going to the boards to wave to Gma and Gpa, Danny riding his stick like a horse, Sammy picking his nose, Alex squirting other kids with a water bottle, Mikey sitting down in the middle of the ice (where he can get hurt), Joey playing rock paper scissors with a kid from the other team with his gloves off, Collin skating in the middle of the ice trying to get other kids to see his new trick he learned at practice the other day and little Brandon swinging his stick everywhere but at the puck
  13. When hockey became to expensive for the average person to play and it became a rich kids game only. When sticks went from $20-$40 a piece in the 90's to $300-$400 nowadays. That is also the same time that reffing became about the $$$ and not just giving back. These rich kid parents don't like to waste money and to them time is money and money is time so if you are going to ref and they are paying your salary you better be perfect and see EVERYTHING!
  14. I have to give it to the kid reffing though. He kicked him out and stuck to it without trying to hear his lip. On the other hand this is very clearly LOW level hockey being played and 2 kids ran into each other while going after the puck. It was a good no call by the refs too. Over the years of my kids playing the Badgers have easily had some of the most classless coaches around.
  15. This is Western PA High School Hockey, not Minnesota or N.D. The best kids are not snubbing their club to to play School Hockey. Who gives a sh*t who has the better player or NAHL kid, wait and watch. That NAHL kid may only be good with good kids around him and dropping down to school hockey he may not give a crap about it.
  16. While a lot of the kids are deserving of being there it is a selection of the Elite with $$$. There are many average kids there from the BIG organizations. If your kids does all of the CCM camps and spring/summer teams he will be part of the "68". It is a great camp for the kids that are picked to go with the coaching and the swag they get for the price.
  17. It was an informational ask not a put down ask. I was just curious.
  18. Okay, I saw a couple of teams higher up on the PIHL website that weren't on the rankings.
  19. Do they update this list throughout the season? Some of the original kids must fall off and I am sure that there are kids that weren't on the list to watch sticking out.
  20. I heard that the sky was blue, I heard that the grass was green, I heard that farts smell, I heard that some fingers are longer than others, I heard a cow go moo, I heard that a duck goes quack, I heard that 7 ate 9, supposedly Debra in 3rd period forgot her homework. Jesus Christ dude you sound like a 13yr old girl. I bet the "V" (as you put it ) are happy that you are not a part of their organization as well. Gossip Queen!
  21. I wasn't calling them faux just using the quote from all of the others. Okay where you want in my opinion. I know good players that don't like to travel and just play school. Go where you please.
