The last topic he created about the woman who stole 40k from a local PIHL club is what gave him away. I was asking around about it if anyone recalls, I stumbled on who he was by accident, it really made a lot of sense looking back at his older posts along with comments he made regarding this particular school team.

They have been wanting to remove checking for years, stats show once checking starts kids stop playing. That’s why they took it out of pw years back. Canada has non checking leagues now. its not about tier 1, tier 2 etc, it’s about keeping people signed up. To me it’s not hockey If checking is removed regardless of the skill level. The game is completely changed, this is even more true at the midget level.

This is completely different than alpha running a tournament how they want. This is the sanctioning body that governs hockey in the United States.

all great questions, I’ve reached out to people in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Denver, Florida, ny, nj, along with everywhere else I still have friends and contacts. I’ll share whatever comes my way. Hopefully this will help you folks that still have kids playing. One thing that really rattled my chain, no contact. Hockey Canada has begun phasing it out for amateur, USA hockey wanted to follow. Friend from mid am. The decision was made yesterday. I’m sure all the teams are probably just being notified. Scooby doo said he’s playing today, Scooby dooby do where are you ? this is just plain stupid imo, this is how ALL USA hockey games at every level will be played this year. i said hockey would be shut down this year (always hoped I was wrong). At this point why even play ? No contact - USA hockey has wanted this for some time, Covid gives them a reason to put it in place.

Mid am has stated that hockey will be played like in Michigan. 4 on 4, no checking 10 players per team. That’s the end of any real hockey for this year, they should change the hockey is back slogan. This isn’t a county issue, it’s going to be every state. It‘s coming from Denver.

I couldn’t answer that but most rinks such as alpha have been playing games with 18 Skaters per team.

Rinks are private business, if true it will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Certain schools are already going against PIAA, they all happen to be in Allegheny County. USA Hockey has been publishing a slogan on social media all week stating “hockey is back”.

Oct 1st - taking the under. It’s schools that will shut their programs down.

PIAA made their decision, links should be coming out shortly. The PIAA are not going to listen to the gov and resume fall sports next week. Curious how schools handle this.

Montour was not the school I was referring to BUT a friend over there was just informed by the school that classes for his daughter have been canceled for first 9 weeks, they will now be online due to a cheerleader getting covid (sounds like another beach party thing) This to me, makes me feel more confident about the rumors I have heard about three different schools shutting sports down regardless what piaa decides. It’s all going to be decided by the teachers and admin, If they are libs ( as most agenda pushing teachers are ) don’t expect your school to have sports. It will be similar to how states have all handled things differently. Not just for the sake of sports, but all kids I’m hoping To be proven completely wrong.

Because I do not know this to be 100% true, there is always three sides to every story in a situation like this. the information was expressed to me by a friend at this school. I trust what she had to say. No need to name the school, if it’s true everyone will know in a week or so. I’ve heard similar stories out of two other school hockey programs, that’s is why I put the information out there.

yes, this sounds like the motive to me. I was told this school has a fair amount of teachers that are not happy kids are going back for hybrid learning along with some full time In school. Sounds like between the admin, board & teachers they are just looking for any reason to go 100% online. Using sports may help their agenda. We will hear what happens soon I suppose, when are most HS suppose to fo back ?

I was just told of a school in Allegheny county that will not have fall sports regardless what PIAA says tomorrow. The super intendant along with the school board are citing reasons such as - the kids are not full time in school, it’s to dangerous, they don’t want athletes picking up covid and bring it to the school (hybrid attendance). Possible vaccine by January. The hockey club was specifically noted during this zoom meeting, the school board gives the the club money, they feel hockey has more close contact than any sport. It will be interesting to see if this comes true. if one school pulls this, I’m sure a few others will follow.

Some holes in this story. You personally know the safe sport coordinator yet come here to post it public ? I’m sure this person is now well aware If your motives if any of this is true. Assuming this is legit, what age are we talking about ? private club team or school team ? Rinks do not have safe sports coordinators unless something has changed since my kids days.

The amount of tax money the car shows, classic car auctions and swap meets bring is huge, Personally I think it’s hypocritical. The majority of the people that attend are from out of state, nj & ny supposed “hot spots” I’ve been out there in my younger days. As for rinks, I’m sure I heard alpha was fined for a few weeks but didn’t care due to the amount of revenue coming in from selling ice.

My kid’s always used cages. They hated clear shields.

Heard something similar from friends with kids at other schools, but it was the school board not the principals. Some school hockey programs get money from the school board, It appears these are the few schools that are shutting down Their hockey programs. I am trying to keep politics out this but here comes the BUT - these few schools and their boards are considered very liberal by the people in their communities.

They needed someone who would be up there anyway to fill the spot ? what you are really saying is they took a AA skilled player at best, for a forward spot, due to the players family sending him to the excel / NC program for 3 years. It’s like politicians paying their donors back. If you want to know more about PPE behind closed door deals, i was told he quit esmark right before the district playoffs because he was already given the spot on PPE for this coming season. He was the bottom forward on the the esmark team, how can you remotely justify this player making a top 10 18U AAA team ? I can give you more examples of this with 02s, 01s and 00s through the past few seasons. When PPE introduced excel, that’s when they left the locals behind, unless of course they have plenty of money to pull out of their pockets. I’m glad you did recognize this situation and didn’t try to run from it or say it wasn’t true. Kudos for that.
