Valid points and similar to what I have been thinking. Honestly, this is the end of how things once were. There will be a new normal that won’t happen until a vaccine is in place. I was just reading all summer concerts are canceled and it’s looking like they won’t be back until 2021, I suspect youth sports will be the same. Some of my friends disagree, time will tell. I do not think colleges even go back for the first semester, they continue online. Folks, get ready. If this is how it plays out western pa will lose a rink or two.

Appears youth baseball is being canceled for the summer, hockey won’t be back in the fall. I doubt we will see hs football this year. It will be a solid year from now until things get back to “normal” once a vaccine is released.

I agree, even if travel teams are ready to go by September, unless there is a vaccine out, I don’t see parents letting their kids play. You would be crazy to do it under these circumstances. Personally I don’t see youth sports coming back at all in 2020, especially hockey. Hopefully there are antibody tests done regularly and a vaccine is ready by late 2020. I do fear if this scenario plays out, some rinks could fold. I highly doubt there will be any form of youth hockey for the rest of 2020. Just my opinion.

I wouldn’t expected to see tryouts start until the county is back to operational. Even then it’s all about the virus. Will there be a 2nd, 3rd wave ? Personally I think this is the second wave already. This was the worst flu & cold season I’ve seen circulate in hockey this year. I’m guessing late July could be the earliest tryouts begin, I would not be surprised if it was September or next season possibly played as a half season.

I’ve seen TK doing his classes. Drills seemed good but didn’t see much interaction. Looked like he was going through the motions. This isn’t a dig, just what I noticed the few times I saw his classes going on.

They go together like peanut butter and jelly, considering my kids played for ppe and I have had upmc health insurance in the past, my input should matter on this ? I’ll stick with highmark!

Man that goes all the way down to pihl, President owns a rink that he sells ice time to the league he was president of, then he steps down to vp (still a paid position) and I haven’t followed it since then, guessing that was 2-3 years ago.

Very true! A new enrollment was just sent out the rink is closed now.

I’ve always tryouts should not start until mid July, pick your team and get going. Those summer months change the kids a lot. Never made sense to me why they are always right after the season. Young kids - some grow a lit over those late spring, early summer months. Older kids - their minds and bodies mature a lot over these sane months.

With the pros going on hold, along with all the major junior leagues I doubt it will. As much as the emperor wants it, in the end they need to keep the nhl image out front.
