For me it's how much the game changes. You could be winning PAHL this year and next year when the game changes suddenly your team is no where near as good as it was due to the change. If I was a parent on that team I think I'd wait at least one more year before traveling around the country.

Apparently that team is going "AAA" next year as well. Seems questionable to me to make that jump the first year of checking.

South Pittsburgh and Preds. Preds top teams are independent completely except their squirt minor teams. Also agree that this is all so silly.

I think any parent addressing another child should be an auto ejection.

Organizations need to set the tone early by building in training for coaches and managers to tell parents what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior. That nips it in the bud. One thing Pens Elite does right is to set parent expectations up front. Preds and Allegheny are terrible, closely followed by SHAHA and teams from the middle of nowhere. I always assumed Preds were that way because they recruit kids by telling them they are the best kid in Pittsburgh and everyone who goes there thinks they are truly AAA players when they are really mid grade AA players.

Big issue I have with school hockey (below varsity) is that you never know who is going to show up especially if you have a Thursday night game.

This article makes it sound like a medical malpractice from the surgery than as a result of the game....... not sure that is actually the case but saying unremarkable hockey play, treated there, then not surviving a surgery? I'm sure the hospital would love to drive the narrative in a different direction if possible.

Additionally in my opinion it's gross for teams to be trying to poach kids from other teams mid season to begin and especially to cut kids mid season (like the goalie situation)

That's correct - 1 min 12 or less minutes, 1:30 under 15 (13 or 14 min periods) and 15+ 2 minutes correct?

So I have been thinking - the penalty minutes being matched to the length of the period have been a great success in my opinion. Makes penalties much more accurate of a punishment for the crime and I think PAHL made a good decision to leave majors alone. Other people have good experiences? Any idea why PIHL doesn't seem to have adopted this as well?

To many it doesn't matter because these teams don't have enough As after their name.
