  1. For transition, I highly recommend you find a low key summer full ice league for your kids to play in - Quest (ice castle) or Baierl are two I know of. It lets them get used to the game. Colby Armstrong is a parent of a kid on the 10 vengeance btw.
  2. I think the 10u and 12u are both in Hershey which isn't too bad for either side.
  3. When were the rosters selected? If it was 3 months ago the rankings could have changed or teams could have turned them down
  4. Renegades allow the 2010 Vengeance birth year team to play AA pahl as renegades. They do not have a different AA team and the 2009 Vengeance do not play PAHL.
  5. If you live in the North I would recommend North Pittsburgh as well
  6. Completely agree here. Pens would out themselves out of business at several levels because they would lose the best kids who cant or don't want to do Excel
  7. My kids never did one but I believe Mt. Lebo has a transition camp and Quest Hockey does as well. Pens and Friends have one too but I'm not sure if it is open to everyone or just for the Pens Elite kids.
  8. They do broadcast Vengeance games and they have a camera on the one ice surface. It may be a different system but they only turn it on for those specific vengeance games and never for any other games which I think is strange.
  9. Alpha even has the cameras. They use it for the vengeance u16 never understood why they don't get it for all games.
  10. Especially with those kind of scores. I'm so sure the kids from the other team (at 9) "knew what they were signing up for". A thrashing.
  11. Yep I guess that gives you a license to be classless to 9 year olds. Good call.
  12. Apparently the Pens Elite Squirt coaches didn't get this memo. They won all their games today (gold teams) by 10+.
  13. You would assume it would involve interviewing the girl, the other coaches, other teammates, others who may have seen something in the stands, etc. - not just reviewing the tape, but we will see I guess.
  14. The Durham (Canada) police are now doing a formal investigation in cooperation with Pennsylvania authorities about the possibility of pressing charges.
  15. I'm speaking out of my butt but I'm assuming a lot of the Pens local losses come when they go from two teams to one and start bringing in kids from outside PA. Once that happens you lose 3/4 of the kids who have played Pens elite from squirts up. The imports play here 2-3 years then go to Juniors or other places when they turn 17 so you are left with a small team who doesn't. Meanwhile the kids who were cut have moved on to other "AAA" programs and you are stuck trying to get either the kids you cut a couple years ago to come back OR getting new kids who may not be as good as the ones you cut and now don't want to come back to your program.
  16. If a coach is worried about being "disrespected" by a 10 year old girl he should never be on the ice again or anywhere near it.
  17. A new wrinkle. @Scooby Doo - don't know. Article I saw on KDKA only said last weekend at RMU.
  18. Yeah but your mom claiming the opposing coach pushed you down in the handshake line isn't...or shouldn't be! Again, I think the video isn't enough to say anything either way, but I'd probably lean in his favor based on the other conversations here.
  19. I agree with both of you- I also would *hope* that if a coach actually pushed down a player from the other team that the other coaches standing beside him and watching would do something about it (even if that just means removing him from the bench and reporting him) but who knows? I was waiting for a parent to jump on here and tell us how she "deserved it" ?
  20. Anyone else see the story about a coach pushing a 10 year old girl down at RMU? Obviously the video doesn't tell use enough of the context and if something happened, but seriously, what behavior do we find acceptable these days? I didn't post the link since it "identifies" the hockey player and I know that used to be against the rules, but it may be fine since it has been publicly posted in the news.
  21. Good catch. Thanks for clarifying for me I had the two years mixed up.
