  1. My gut feeling is that esmark seems to be turning into a money grab especially trying to pretend to field two teams as the peewee level. Regardless of past performance they are pretending to be competitive at younger ages and are not.
  2. You may be obligated to pay the commitment fee (up to organization 1 if they want to hold you to it) but you can have your kid removed from the roster and rostered on organization 2 no problem. I would he up front and honest with both organizations.
  3. I am not sure. Heard various things. Could be some wanted to play in a league, some wanted the team to get stronger by combining the best kids from various organizations, and from what was said above it sounds like some may be trying out for various organizations. I also heard a lot about the new Vengeance off ice facility they were constructing so I wonder if that factored in as well?
  4. I think they split up with a majority going to Esmark.
  5. I think the 10s who did well last year are staying there.
  6. I heard most of the kids who were there are headed to Predators. No idea why. Have not heard anything about who the new coach is.
  7. Organizations can make a bit of money doing it too and not the rink. I believe both North Pittsburgh and Morgantown have been doing it for a while. It gets harder at the older levels I guess - would have to ask RMU but they seem a bit odd because the lines between organization and rink are more blurred?
  8. Most likely, the admins have been locking threads that a) are letting you know about something since its clear from the first post so why leave it open and b) because discussion runs it's course so why leave it open while people go around in circles.
  9. Easily. If Preds, SHAHA, Icemen, and Esmark would go back to PAHL you would have an amazing AA division.
  10. SCIR parents used to be way wilder back in the day. I feel like these days the only crazies are the coaches up there ?
  11. I would contact the coaches. If you are staying at the same organization it probably won't be an issue as they will know your kid.
  12. I can promise we try. There are some exceptions (insane parents or kids) but are they really the best? Rarely. Some people don't understand if your kid is in the box 50% of the game and costing us FPP you aren't one of the best regardless of your points. At the same time we really try to be open and fair.
  13. I might nominate this as the best post on this forum in years.
  14. I agree except no one is disputing the aviators parents were nuts. If a kid is nuts, that's one thing. Parents? Different story. Even the aviators dad didn't say his parents weren't saying crap about the girls on the team or yelling to hurt kids. That's never acceptable. If the kid (s) were out of control like the bleeding from being cornered and beaten up, someone should file a safesport report.
  15. So that gives the parents a right to be insane towards kids? Serious question.
  16. Our team is getting ready to have a pretty competitive, higher level tryout. Looking at our roster, our head coach (I'm manager) gave everyone a good assessment at the end of the season where they stood and what they were doing well or not. He told kids if they were likely longshots to make the team again and he told the kids who were the best that he hopes they stay and gave them skills to work on. At this point, I'm starting to get a lot of calls about the tryouts. We don't need to make a ton of money off tryouts so that isn't an incentive. Anyone else have experience walking the line between telling everyone to try out and telling people probably 2/3 of the team is definitely locked in? I'm also wondering - we use a tryout rubric that rates kids during tryouts. Has anyone figured out how to incorporate past performance (last season) into something like that? I guess it could be positive or negative but you couldn't do it at all for kids who weren't on your team? I feel like doing it openly could be good because obviously you could have a better tryout than the best kid on the team but we aren't cutting him based on last year?
  17. I might need to see the livebarn on this one. Give us a date and time.
  18. Sounds like you might be one of the crazy parents if you are defending that kind of behavior from adults at a peewee game ?
  19. Their major failure was the 16U team, which is their most important team.
