Pa Hockey Posted August 22, 2023 Share Posted August 22, 2023 As we get ready for the 2023-24 season, I want to remind everyone that the 17th Annual National Invitational Scholastic Showcase will be held December 1st - 3rd, 2023 at the Northwest Savings Bank Arena in Jamestown, NY. I will be mailing the Tournament Packages with Hotel Information, Rules, Scheduling Info, the Tournament Roster and Final Payment very soon to complete arrangements for the Event. The Varsity Tournament currently is full with 16 Schools (1 from Colorado, 3 from Illinois, 1 from Indiana, 1 from Maryland, 4 from Ohio 1 from Ontario, 1 from Eastern Pa and 4 from Western Pennsylvania pre-registered) . What percentage of HS kids on school teams do you think also play on amateur teams? Everyone appreciates you promoting the school tournaments, but players playing on two teams is not a minority. You will see a drop off with HS seniors. Other age groups my guess is 80-90% play on two teams. I know a number of team managers from amateur teams that have to schedule around school tournaments because of scheduling conflicts. What you discount is most of these schools from Colorado + Ohio Fed + East Pa + Culver Varsity + Illinois + Ontario HA + DeMatha have different commitment levels for their HS teams and bring their full teams to these events (and NA and Cathedral Prep have that level too in recent years ) 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When the coaches of the club teams stop talking out of both sides of their mouths as they supposedly HS friendly and then screw kids then maybe things will change.
