dazedandconfused Posted September 16 Posted September 16 As was mentioned in another thread, both the USHL Showcase as well as the THF Event. For those with younger players and aspirations (I call delusions) that their 10 year old is on the fast track to the NHL, I would encourage you all to check out some of these games in each event. Watch an 18U or 16U game in the USHL with the likes of Shattuck, BK and many other powerhouses and then go and watch an 18U game between any two THF teams and you will note the vast difference in the speed and fluidity of the game. Then consider this, the 18U and 16U divisions are already devoid of the very best players at each BY by those whom are already playing in the USHL itself.

Shattuck has 0 teams playing in the USHL tournament and BK has 1. Didn't 1 of those "powerhouses" BARELY beat (2-0 with an empty net goal) 1 of those THF teams that are slower and not as fluid as a team last year in the Midam Championship. If you think all these parents are delusional then why tell them to go watch games that their kids most likely don't have a chance of playing in. You really are Dazed and Confused. 1
nemesis8679 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 (edited) The parents are delusional. I don't know about Pucks11's specific example. But it's hockey. Any team that's in the same or similar division can win 1 game. Which, the THF team apparently didn't even do that. But play 10, and the "powerhouse" team will win 8 of them. dazedandconfused Posted September 17 Author Posted September 17 It's like shooting fish in a barrel. I don't know as you're being so vague. What I do know is that neither Shattuck nor BK are even in the District but after refreshing myself with the different scores this is what I've deduced. You've hitched your delusional dreams to the greatest salesman of delusion that this city has ever seen. And if I'm being too vague, I'm talking about the former "Esmark" now Pittsburgh Stars 16U coach. Good luck on that journey.
