  1. Past hour
  2. Didn't the players know what the travel schedule would be like before they agreed to play for the team? How could it have been different? Were they mad that teams weren't bringing their best to Pittsburgh? I heard good things about the home games to begin the season!
  3. Today
  4. About 50 skaters and 11 goalies for 09 Renegades/Vengeance AA tonight
  5. When he got fired you guys were 4-2-1 in the regular season. The 2 games lost in regulation you guys didn't have all your players travel and didn't have your starting goalie but still put up a fight. He told us how proud he was of the team and their effort and how you guys battled back. The same thing happened in your overtime loss against Michigan. But again that schedule was not made to be easy for the working man. I believe the driving time to the 2 games you lost in regulation was like 9 hours or some crazy shit like that. My buddy loved everyone on that team. He told me some crazy shit that this owner of the league did and wouldn't listen to things he brought up. Apparently they wanted no more than 3 refs on the ice to save money. I seriously loved watching the games and will miss it. It was truly entertaining and to see that many people come to that rink, I cant tell you the last time I seen that many people in that rink. It was truly a great atmosphere. I hope someone can take it over and make this a legit thing. But with the owner and all his legal trouble, I highly doubt anyone will tryout for that team.
  6. There was a time when the team was actually good and could compete. had 3 ex Fed players 3 ex D1 Club players 5 ex D3 club players and couple ex USPHL players. but again that’s when everyone would show up. Last game we had that was the regular season home opener against Niagara and the home game against Toledo.
  7. I agree, I liked the Coach before. I wouldn’t say he had a winning record cause he went 4-3 or 4-4. But still he was a players coach. Honestly not that hard to coach this league. Not a knock at him. That coach and our captain held that team together. Our captain then had to deal with everything our owner did after that coach left.
  8. Yesterday
  9. Ogden Mustangs have at least 2 in Philadelphia and 1-2 in Ogden, UT. I think that they own the Philly rink and the team in Utah. But, they are all money grabs, even the main camp I believe. It’s not tuition free until you make the team…but even then; it’s costing money to play in the NCDC.
  10. More than ever, some teams are doing 2,3 and even 4 times a year now.
  11. With the guy running it and the team folding, no one is going to play for that team next season.
  12. 15 years later and these money grabs are still going on smh
  13. Total money grab - many of these invites are "personalized" yet the player's name at the top is almost always in a different font from the text of the invite - kinda like a "insert player name here." There's prospect camps, tryout camps, main camps, exposure camps, combine camps..........didI miss any? And all are at $500 a clip plus hotel at a stay to play venue.
  14. Money grab, those birth years don't even get looked at for another 2-3yrs.
  15. Curious about this as well. Wasn't personalized, "first invitees taken, limited spots!" Anyone have input or trust my intuition?
  16. Lmfao - guessing you are one of the “parents” that didn’t like the coaching change? Time for a user name change or put your kid back In Wooster for “Junior” hockey. Oh wait, that folded too…………..
  17. Any local western pa college club m1-m3 team would have had their way with this team. I watched some of the YouTube stuff - brutal. 2 older guys that could play, lots of guys that never took a skating lesson in their life, couldn’t use their edges. Some young kids that wouldn’t make any local acha teams. It was just bad.
  18. No hitting and they aren't playing for anything. Just not fun to watch.
  19. Sounds about right for the actual talent pool.
  20. Ok, I can understand that. At least you're being honest about it.
  21. Why not just go out and watch local men's league games? It's as good a level of hockey or better and you just might see a scrap or two. Plus you can probably bring your own beer most places and not catch any hell for it
  22. I live 5 minutes feom the rink. None of those teams are in beaver county. I don't care what anyone says, this was an awesome atmosphere and yes I enjoyed the fights. Fighting is going away from the game. I'm 45 and I love old school hockey. The fights and the hits were why we came and im sure that's why most of the people came. Occasionally there was some really good hockey and some really nice plays. Like I said it brought something to the county that people could afford and have some beers.
  23. Serious question, what is going on with all of these 09 teams folding or not having enough kids? It's not a deep birth year as it is but reading everything on here it's anywhere from 2-4 full teams folding. There is no way that many parents are okay with their superstars playing on a mixed team.
  24. So you would rather watch fights then. Because I'm pretty sure that Pitt and IUP would have their way with the River Monsters.
  25. Heard like 10 skaters and a few goalies. Criminal they didn’t cancel tryouts and took their tryout fee
  26. I'll be interested to see who they're able to get. I've heard of 5 of their better players that made Predators. Some others I know were at Esmark tryouts and I assume made it. It looks like they switched up coaches. The guy from last year that came in from Michigan isn't listed anymore, instead it's the father/son duo that coached their younger ages.
  27. People thought they folded but they ended up moving their tryouts to later in the week to pick up the scraps.
