Detroit recently hosted AAA and AA teams at various rinks for the CCM event where all players had to wear masks on the ice. To my knowledge, nobody from that or other events has died from it nor suffered from “bacterial infections” because of a wet mask. My son said this new policy “sucks” but if it means playing vs not playing he will comply so he can play. It could be worse - there are states where teams are completely shut down games for playing games in their home areas and are not permitted to travel at all.

How does this apply to indoor hockey rinks?

That would make for some interesting reading, Benji. Can you post a link supporting your claim that hockey players will be getting bacterial infections for wearing a "wet mask?" Doctors and nurses wear masks for 8-12 hr shifts, a tad more than hockey players do in a 75 minute ice slot. But I am open minded and look forward to reading more about this.

With the exception of BC and parts of NB, there are zero games being played by teams in Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes and PEI. I would be curious to see how PPE teams are feeling about this as they typically rely on numerous trips north of the border and Canadian teams also coming here.

I thought we were talking about LiveBarn at Alpha. What does the Vengeance have to do with Alpha not using LiveBarn? Do you have an insider tip or know something others don't? As far as @Jack Handey stating Alpha was hosting "super spreader events" I recall PPE kids going in and out of Alpha once the rink opened when Allegheny Cty turned to yellow phase because UPMC was shut down. And wasn't your son an active participant in skating sessions at Alpha during that time? And as far as those "super spreader" events I haven not seen any data that there has been COVID outbreaks within those that were skating at Alpha.

I do not know what's worse - being able to attend games at Alpha but no LiveBarn, or UPMC allowing only family members of players but has LiveBarn turned on. Why isn't UPMC adhering to the up to 20% capacity rule?

One of the best in the business, Doc Emrick has decided to retire. A sad day for me as I loved his style and pure excitement when calling games. The Twitter post he narrated for NBC Sports during the shutdown gets me every time........

Most hotels are operating at under a 50% capacity rate and at check in you can request a room that has not recently been occupied. Business travel is down to a trickle so hotels are depending on tournaments to stay in business. Bed bugs are no longer an issue in hotels - that was a couple of years ago especially in NYC hotels.

This weekend at the CCM tournament in Detroit, skaters must wear a mask or fishbowl with splash guard. I am sure after a shift players will have no issues breathing while wearing a freaking mask........

Then move to Detroit where your kids have to wear a mask while on the ice. Or move to NY where your kid has to travel out of state to play a game. That may be true, however Baierl and Neville are located in communities that are “Democrat central” yet those rinks are open with 5/5, full benches and spectators.
