  1. The scores of SHAHA games may have looked competitive, the games themselves really were not. At least not against the better teams. As for Allegheny, it's a tough call but it must have been fine developmentally as the were competitive at 14U States.
  2. Wow!! A new record. Labor Day was the previous record for someone to begin talking about the next season's tryouts. Now we've gone all the way to July 1st? SMFH
  3. Predicted order of finish for 15U Districts PPE Barons SHAHA/Vengeance - coin flip CBJ Tri-State Preds - no chance Icemen - wouldn't qualify for PAHL playoffs but hey, it's worth that 3rd A isn't it
  4. The Icemen issues not withstanding, the management group at FP didn't do themselves any favors this season by requiring all Yeti players to purchase all new on ice apparel materials even if the player was not in need. Jerseys, socks, shells and practice jerseys. I know a couple of families and it did not sit well as the pricing structure seemed a bit on the overpriced side according to them. This was especially true when a family hadn't had any costs associated with this stuff in their plans.
  5. And no one ever heard of him until last March. And yes he has said multiple masks and masks for the foreseeable future despite the science to the contrary. I made an innocuous statement about him not f'ing it up for the KIDS this coming year and you decided to go off on a tangent. I'll leave it at that and you can have the final word as you always feel is required.
  6. The variant. The variant. Wear a mask forever. Wear 3 masks. Life will never be normal. I am Fauci. Heed my words. This is my 15 months of fame. Give me a break Fafa. The guy's a fraud and I just hope he isn't permitted to f these kids over again next year with this BS variant nonsense. If you think it's okay if he does, you're entitled to that opinion in a free country.
  7. This year may just be that a lot of players have opted for their HS teams only. Think about what these rising Seniors have been through, the end of their Sophomore year and majority of their Junior year have been completely f'd up. Things may go back to more normalcy if we don't fall victim to the Fauci variant that he's creating.
  8. And as one would expect from the geriatrics at MidAm, this simple thought probably never entered their minds.
  9. If you always expect the worst from the governing bodies, at least you'll never be disappointed.
  10. It won't be a dump soon and that's the problem. They don't care if it's a dump, they care that it was cheap ice. Cheap ice = increased profit.
  11. Ron Shock - great screen name!! I wonder how many people on here know he was a Penguin back in the 70's?
  12. It's more than 6 or 7 that left for the greener pastures of New Kensington. I wonder if they (along with many others) are aware that they may be playing out of another rink....... in the South Hills?
  13. Okay, so it's back. They should have a fine season in PAHL A-Major Black, possibly the pre-season favorite.
  14. It appears as though though the same fate as Esmark 06 may have befell the Icemen 05 group. Last week there was a roster on the website and then...... there wasn't
  15. Understand that does not mean the D1 teams will be spared. That's a school decision that's not likely to be reversed, This would apply to the tuition paying and club cost paying teams and their members.
  16. @VT, I think your transplant is going to be very successful. Welcome to The Burgh.
  17. This program probably survived longer than it should have when you look at all of the barriers that are in place working against. The biggest drawback and obstacle has to be the lack of an on-campus facility. Just look at Pitt football, they can't get students to hop a bus from Oakland to Heinz Field. I've heard those same "rumors" about this 3rd sheet and RMU plus a Junior team. If this was the case, did the Penguins just turn their backs on them? The bottom line is it's ALL about the money in this sport and sadly it will probably only get worse.
  18. Danner's claim to fame is lying about the playing history of his kids. He has been vetted as a compulsive liar on here. He has also made it clear that he hates all organizations other than PPE along with only a slight dislike for Esmark.
  19. BF, you are obviously challenged. "These two" make all the decisions and "These two make all the $$$$$$" Don't doubt me I am Omniscient. If you doubt me, refer back to this post from 1/24 regarding the sale of Center Ice. Good news/bad news. Keeps the rink under stable ownership. If they jack up ice rates like they did at Southpointe, the players families are the ones that end up paying the price. 1. PPE - despite them turning their backs on numerous local players who have paid the NHL team bills for 6 years, they inadvertently scrambled the 06 landscape 2. SHAHA - solid team, strong Coach - too much parental control but they were going get their 20 players regardless 3. Vengeance - new Coach, fair amount of turnover but were always going to be in the mix 4. Barons - for some reason there are like 6 local players or more? playing there this season. Very good team but that commute 75 times in a season? SMFH!!! 5. Preds - light years from being a AAA team but were going to keep 20 South Hills kids closer to home 6. 3 PAHL teams - North Pitt (WPA rep at Nationals), Allegheny and Renegades were all top 40 AA teams and will all be keeping plenty of players that aren't chasing the 3rd A So, I think this is fairly detailed and solid evidence as to why it was a tragedy. Can you tell me why you think it was anything more than a fleecing derailed by players declining? Quote
  20. Click this link and scroll down to team #100/103 and tell me if you still believe what you posted. https://myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?y=2017&a=2&v=114
  21. It's going to be an entirely different world at PIA with the pending sale of yet another rink to the Black Bear group. Fees will skyrocket and many people will be left holding themselves in their hand. The 06 thing was a tragedy from the start. Based solely on them getting players from EuroRussia to even make the team an A Major team. The ONLY reason that team folded was because the players declined the offers. It had nothing to with Kosick and Yuri trying to do the right thing.
  22. Back then, they were so intent on segregating the two teams from each other that they actually made the black teams wear a different uniform. A cheaper more suitable uniform for the dregs of the organization.
