  1. ? I hate to admit it but I kind of agree. I love the guy personally but have grown tired of his announcing style.
  2. Yeah, recently stayed at a hotel in Ohio, it was a ghost town other than our team, which was nice. They also bent over backwards in accommodating us.
  3. Fairly certain the schedule, standings and player stats will all be kept on their web site once games start.
  4. Placement games played this week for U14 teams, moving along with scheduling now I'd guess...think there are10 teams? Not sure of status of U12 league.
  5. It’s non checking just like MS hockey in PIHL.
  6. I would venture most teams playing in this are playing because they cannot field a PIHL team due to PW roster limitations. Nothing PIHL can do to them, they wouldn't have been playing PIHL anyway and likely scheduling their own independent games. This league just makes it a lot easier. The money saved on PIHL assessment can be used to schedule more practices or independent games/tournaments.
  7. Seriously??? Do you realize what PIHL charges MS teams...for less games! This is a deal. PIHL, 14 games + playoffs - 12 minute periods. ATC, 15 games + playoffs - 13 minute periods for a lot less money than PIHL charges....and you don't have to worry about the stupid 25% PW rule imposed by Mid-Am.
  8. Right, so let's hope everyone, regardless of political ideology, can just do the right thing so their kids can play some damn hockey!!
  9. Baierl is letting teams share ice for practices only. They are supposed to put bumpers across center ice. There are even newly created dressing areas so teams can dress and enter the rink via different doors so they don't have to interact. It does seem a bit odd but I credit Baierl with being creative and trying to allow more teams to get practices in.
  10. This is another problem with this whole thing, this one size fits all approach. It was worse in the East than here but we are all locked down the same. Ridiculous!
  11. Pretty sure PIHL changed that response date to 9/5.
  12. Called my state rep and left a message. To my shock, got a call back saying he was absolutely in favor of getting this bill passed. Guess we can hope!
  13. Oh, you don't know the acceptable risk?? Nobody dies, ever again. It's a Festivus miracle!
  14. The fact is, regular old influenza is far more dangerous to kids. But you know, it's all about killing everyone else.
  15. Reading comprehension isn't your strong point is it? I didn't say the DON'T transmit it, I said they aren't GOOD transmitters. There are plenty of valid studies on this, but you just believe it's all made up so there is no point in discussing.
  16. The reality is, there would be no way to prove WHERE little Johnny got it. And lets be honest, little Johnny wouldn't even know he had it most likely, or may get the sniffles. And there is ample evidence from other countries about kids not be good transmitters of this virus.....but I know, I just cherry-picked that fact because it fits my thoughts right??
  17. Lol, overwhelming majority? Says who, the MSM?? Those that have financial gains to be made from this crisis? Those that have flip-flopped all over the place the entire time?
  18. And these most educated experienced people don't have a political bent?? We can find highly qualified, reputable "educated" people that disagree completely about how this whole situation is being handled. Because of their political differences, they will never find common ground, leaving all of us stuck in the middle.
  19. BREAKING NEWS: Allegheny County says the outdoor gathering limit of 50 still applies to sports, but teams on the sidelines and the players on the field each count as three individual gatherings, or "pods." ==== So, wonder if this could be applied to indoor....each bench is a pod, game ice is a pod, penalty box is a pod... ?
  20. Even with Livebarn you can black our certain times if you want to not have people viewing tryouts for example. Alpha doesn’t have it either for some reason which is gonna suck if that’s how we have to watch games this season.
  21. Not one of the people tested in our CA office tested positive for flu. Not all got tested because they didn't go to the doctor but of those that did, it wasn't the flu...according to the test. I'm not in disagreement with you, really, I understand this is far more serious than a regular flu. But what are we going to do? Hide in our homes for another year? That's easy for people like me to say, who are able to work from home. Not so easy for someone without a job or is in danger of losing their small business. We cannot continue to pay unemployment for millions of people for that long.
  22. This right here is so true. We had a ton of sick kids on both travel and PIHL teams last season. This is why I believe having a reliable anti-body test is just as important as testing for the actual virus because I believe we will see many of us have already had it. My company has an office in California. Half the office was out sick in February with some unknown sickness. Everyone now believes it was COVID, and likely explains why the numbers in CA are less than PA....not because they are following the lockdown better or started sooner, but because they've already had it and didn't know it.
