Is there a website that you can see the schedule? The MidAm is the worst at information. People might like to go watch some competitive hockey! I think I complained about this last year also!

Thanks for sharing! Most people on this site "Danner" in particular would have us believe there is no chance to play D-1 from Western Pa. Would like to hear more of your experience as your son navigated the hockey world.

LGP13, Just an FYI according to the Esmark, Printscape thread where this all started, the goalie is actually from Columbus. Some people may consider that a foreign country! Haha

Maybe that is changing! Maybe Esmark will be the new go to place for kids wanting to get better coaching in Pittsburgh! Maybe there are people out there who think Pittsburgh has more to offer than just PPE! Maybe just maybe hockey in PGH isn't as bad as some people make it out to be! But then again "maybe" I am just wishful thinking!

Why? Is Pittsburgh so awful? If you dislike it so much for Hockey maybe you should do something to make it better! Besides complain!

Great info! Doesn't Adrian have a D-3 NCAA team also? The guy who started all that at Adrian was at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington,PA. Jeff Docking was a VP at W&J. Talked a great deal about a D-3 Team at W&J and had some alumni investors for a rink in Washington. President resigned! He wanted the job and didn't get it. Went out to Adrian as President, started hockey program there and the rest is history. I believe his kids played. When he was at W&J the club team was good. He left, no one cared and the rest is history at W&J. (No program now)

16U and 18U Tryouts are a formality! They have their teams picked well before and get maybe 1 or 2 surprises! Tryouts are a money maker for them! I wouldn't tryout unless invited!

They had tryouts last year on Easter Sunday!

Yeah I went back and read it again! Sure will be interesting to see where their kids come from! Might draw some from the South Hills in the younger age groups who are not crazy about the PIA drive all the time! Esmark always tries to get their info out there early. Wow, did you look at the information? It's all over the place and very hard to read. They have last years tryout info still in the page so you really have to look through it all to figure it out. It does say they are having tryouts at Printscape but it sure doesn't mention them being there for 23-24. If you look close they are only having 1 tryout date at Printscape to 2 or 3 at PIA. Does it mean that all the kids will have to tryout at both places? As for the Viper Stars info it's all from last year. You would think they would have taken out all that info before posting.

Playing for fun is the only reason to play. I've seen a whole lot of kids quit a whole lot of different sports when it's no longer fun! Burnout occurs in all sports and all walks of life for that matter! The kids in the upper levels aren't always the most talented!

The Huskies have a 15U team in PAHL 16UAA this year so I assume they have a PAHL Charter and BB will be able to use it. This year I believe that was the only team the Huskies had. Haven't seen any new info about the Huskies yet. Their website needs a whole lot of work!

I would take the Coaching at Esmark over the PPE any day and take the 16uAAA SHAHA Coach over all of them!

You do know that Southpointe never had a second sheet of Ice? It was always a multisurface. It never had icemaking potential. Was built in the late 90's as a Practice facility for the Pens. Thats why it would take a lot to put in that second sheet. It does seem like the multiuse rink is always in use when I have been there.
