  1. All Tier 1 MidAm games are local and should make for some good hockey this weekend.
  2. NCHS players are not required to enroll in Excel, however I believe all HS players that play on PPE teams are required. So if you have $15K for school enrollment, another $5K for Excel, then add PPE fees of roughly $12K per season your young superstar can get all of the best of everything for a paltry $32K or more per year.
  3. Again, I’m just here setting the record straight that NA Varsity players played in PAHL playoffs this past weekend. One or two of them may have not played for a variety of reasons, but the notion that the NA coach did not allow his players to play is absolutely false. A look at the games on LiveBarn will confirm this.
  4. Really? Do you want me to name names on the U18 Foxes roster, the U16 NP roster and the U16 06 Renegades team that played yesterday? I know @Paul Baxter doesn’t want us to list names on this thread, but you are wrong bro. Trust me on this.
  5. Players on the U16 AA NP team that play for NA were on the ice yesterday. That is a fact.
  6. Why would you say that? The NA kids on that team played yesterday…..
  7. Some early surprises in yesterday’s PAHL playoffs and for U16 AA it looks like the 05 Renegades ( ranked #5 in Tier 2 ) will play the 06 Renegades in the championship game. And will anyone beat the U18 Foxes team that is ranked #19 in the country for Tier 2? Many of their players got a taste at Nationals last year when they were on the 04 NP team. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRktR-kIWnXnotIiPCtcZJsQt9hbzHXKoyTavAkdjblQsmxktbEm64G-lTU0rPNSXZU00suOZzZfMly/pubhtml
  8. The MidAm website might be the worst and most outdated website I have ever encountered. When you still rely on faxing as a way to forward documents or have articles that are over three years old, it speaks for itself. If anyone out there has kids playing in the tournament please post scores - thanks.
  9. I have zero skin in this game. Saying that, how can a parent sitting in the top row of the stands be seeking out a player from that spot? If he were actually seeking out any players, wouldn't he be at the lower level of the stands? The only person that ascended up or descended down stairs was the Shaler player. That fact is indisputable. Whether he wanted to seek out said player and said so aloud for others around him to hear is a different story.
  10. Are you mad because the thread that you started got highjacked with comments on it not related to your original topic? This is a hockey forum - relax. Props to @Danner27 and @forbin for adding some needed spice to this thread.
  11. I believe this is the fist time USA Hockey fees are tiered based on BY. It is just another way to get more money into the corporate coffers.
  12. You said, and I quote - "So why should 15 or so parents per team pay extra to deal with 1-2 parents who came to the rink to cause trouble and act like asses? Just get rid of the asses." We march to the speed of those that F things up for everyone else. For years in the state of Montana, they didn't have speed limits on certain highways, and all it took was some morons thinking they could drive 115 and all would be OK. However after horrific accidents and deaths on the highways due to excessive speed, now there are speed limits for EVERYONE to abide by.
  13. That is like saying you won’t stop at a stop sign where it was recently installed because a guy a month prior barreled through the intersection and hit a pedestrian. Using your logic, you didn’t hit the person so why should you stop?
  14. Are you really placing some blame on the person filming this incident? Lol. How often does this happen when if a video does not exist, the incident didn’t happen. Open your eyes. What the video shows is parents being dumbasses and a player following in parents footsteps. You also stated the person releasing the video should be punished? Sorry, but this might actually be the most absurd comment on this entire thread and that is saying a lot. “Try stopping the situation instead of letting it escalate.” What video did you watch? There were plenty of people that separated the player from the incident and kept the altercation between the parents from getting completely out of hand. Now that an actual close up video exists, everyone can see how 99% of the problems withIn youth sports all start with asshole parents, while also showing a player on skates going mini Rambo in the stands takes an already shit show to a new level.
  15. A scrum in the crease? A player with skates on leaves the ice, runs up the stairs and throws punches at a parent. There is nothing to what this kid did is remotely related to a “scrum in the crease” because in such a case, it involves players only within the playing surface. Hypothetically, say there is a scrum in the crease and punches are being thrown between players. Are you good with a parent adding to the melee by running onto the ice and throwing punches?
  16. No I do not know anything about that. All I saw was a Shaler player snap and lose his mind.
  17. The video I saw was taken from a cellphone on the same side as the incident, with the Shaler player in question saying "what are you gonna do, what are you gonna do?" to the parent in the stands before charging him and throwing punches. No player name being used here, no uniform number either. But this kid should never be allowed to play another HS hockey game.
  18. You sure seem to know a lot about the internals of an organization because of having “ a lot of time on your hands” while not being a coach or board member.
  19. Compare that to the recent AAA tournament that was here just a few weeks ago, held at Baierl, Alpha and other local rinks. Not only were standings updated regularly, stats for each player were also on the main website.
  20. For the ATC Presidents Day tournament, is there both U16 AA and U15 AA divisionS? If so whom is slated to play U15 AA? It is good to see so many out of area teams making the trip.
  21. I've noticed NA and PT have participated in a number of these weekend tournaments this season. Does this not pose a conflict with those players that play on amateur teams? I would assume those players that choose to play in amateur games vs the HS games would not go well for them, knowing who runs things over there at NA.
  22. "Systems" - go to any HS game and count how many times the puck handler enters the offensive zone on a rush ( F1 ) and goes down the middle to try and stick handle through two D to score. Then count how many times F1 enters the O-zone and goes wide, F2 crashes the net and F3 goes high slot. You would need three hands or more to count how many times F1 goes up the middle and one hand to count those taking the puck wide. The F1,F2,F3 "system" is taught since U12 and you will find many HS players playing selfishly to pad their own stats by dangling through the middle. It is painful to watch. I have watched those same players that do this in their HS game, yet play to the "system" on their AA and AAA level teams. Not all, but many.
  23. From what I see in the HS game, it is worse there. More individualistic and selfish play there than what I have encountered in the PAHL system.
  24. If I may......imagine the puck being in the middle of this mess.
  25. Fair enough @Paul Baxter Respectfully, the point I want to make is there something to be said for a player / parent to quit a team they were a part of since summer time to join another team for that extra A just weeks before the rosters need to be finalized. If this player was my kid I would have politely said "no" and used it as a teaching moment for him to stay committed to his current teammates and finish the season, and if his desire was to play for that team next season that is what tryouts are for. No venom being thrown here, just an opinion.
