  1. If my kid wanted to play high school hockey and club, and the club told him he couldn't play HS then I would move on and move fast. Granted, HS hockey is not at the level of some AA and AAA level club teams, but kids love playing in front of their school friends. I have watched numerous Pens Cup games this year and the vibe has been nothing but outstanding. The Preds AAA level teams are a joke anyhow - did any of them make MidAms?
  2. I see what you did there - well done.
  3. This is not a dis to the players on the Preds U18 team, but do you really think a team that was ranked 105th out of 125 teams is “producing players” when they can’t sniff MidAms, get a game with a top 40 team while their U18 AA team was ranked higher? https://myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?y=2023&v=118 https://myhockeyrankings.com/association_info.php?a=55
  4. He was impressed with the extra "A"
  5. The Pittsburgh area is great for tourneys - just not there in Delmont. Alpha, Baierl, UPMC and Neville have plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby and all are close enough where multiple facilities could co-host together.
  6. For anyone that is interested, PIHL semi-final / final game tickets usually sell out prior to the games. https://pihlhockey.hometownticketing.com/embed/all
  7. @Spear and Magic Helmet" If PIHL can do individual stats, so can PAHL. I'm sure the complaints are happening in PIHL. There is a policy you can put in, I'm sure. I actually thought the issue was a lack of volunteers to do the manual input of stats, but it's clear that is not the reason." Both PIHL and PAHL run on the same platform - SportsEngine so the data is there, PAHL doesn't want to share it. Not only do PIHL stats get generated live during the game, but once the game is over those same stats appear on each player's profile on Elite Prospects. Anything is possible if there is a willingness........the dinosaurs at PAHL have none. I have attended a number of PIHL playoff games over the years ( only one this year ) and the atmosphere is fantastic.
  8. Top 5? Armstrong is the gold standard for homerism, and hearing the Armstrong faithful parents attempt to say it isn’t so is comic relief.
  9. They just posted the schedule for MidAms Tiers 1 and 2. https://www.midamhockey.com/page/show/8308033-district-tournament https://www.midamhockey.com/page/show/8308036-state-tournaments
  10. If we need more time for the game to be completed before the curfew clock expires, how about allowing players at 16U AA and 18U AA levels to touch up on off sides and also allow them to ice the puck on the PK. Less stoppages of play will allow more time for OT or a shootout. That way we kill two birds with one stone.
  11. To see the dumbest rule in all of youth hockey ( and there are a lot of them ) in the fair play point system potentially going away would be a good thing. Then they can take another look at ties as there is no OT or shootout which is a joke.
  12. This^^^^ 100%, especially for the dinosaurs within PAHL that are wondering why the league has been on a steady downfall for years, while other similar Tier 2 leagues actually promote their players, have all-star games, post stats and are flourishing. Below is an example of what the CSDHL does for their players.......and what PAHL does for theirs.
  13. Throw in visiting teams playing at Armstrong’s barn and getting homered by the refs goes into their ranking. The stupid fair play point is in jeopardy for any visiting team before kids lace up the skates. It is an absolute joke. Too bad ballless PAHL stopped posting game stats to indicate penalty minutes for both teams. Seems anabolic hockey parents were up in arms their kid didn’t get credited for an apple in recent games and PAHL caved. Usually the penalty minute ratio at Belmont is 3/1 in favor of the visiting team.
  14. Katie Strang from The Athletic is as good as it gets for investigative reporting on the NHL.
  15. So for a kid that plays at the High School and U18 level, you are good with no icing on a PK for club hockey but aware that for HS hockey it is allowed? The rule at U18 is a complete joke.
  16. PPE stats are accessible via Elite Prospects, just not on their home webpage. And if you think scouts are not looking at stats then you would be dead wrong. Look with a grain of salt? Sure, but they do look at stats. https://www.eliteprospects.com/team/12789/pittsburgh-penguins-elite-18u/2023-2024?tab=stats
  17. PAHL always seems to have excuses on how to NOT do the right thing.
  18. Uh, no. Not even close. But by you asking such a question you are officially carrying the torch of beating this dead horse to death even more. Great.
  19. Good god, are we going to beat that dead horse that is the Montour goalie situation from last year once again?
  20. Wheeling Catholic is currently the #7 team in the Blue division and their record is 6-5-0-1 with 13 points Greensburg Salem is currently the #7 team in the Gold division and their record is 8-4-0-1-1 with 18 points. GS has played much better teams than WC ( already beaten Mars, NC, Meadville and Indiana ) and may miss the playoffs. One very good team from the Gold division will not make the post season which sucks as that division is stacked.
  21. Other organizations fielding teams at the AA level post stats and sync with players listed on Elite Prospects. The folks that run PAHL are dinosaurs and clueless - making this change is not that difficult. If you look at PA high school hockey, the moment stats post on the PIHL site they are uploaded on Elite Prospects. Both PAHL and PIHL utilize SportsEngine so it makes zero sense. The data is there - those fools should post it. https://www.eliteprospects.com/league/csdhl-16u/stats/2022-2023
  22. I edited my post because I could not make heads or tails on the above post and it appears there are those that interpreted it in a different way than I did. So noted.
  23. https://www.pihlhockey.com Congratulations to all players.
  24. Ohio University sells out almost every home game at roughly an 1,800 capacity but that is because their rink is on campus and they have a strong networking system / social media presence to get students to come to games. Don't know about other programs. I have been to Duquesne and Pitt games at Alpha and attendance is abysmal.
