  1. I appreciate a lot about Doc Emerick but he could get very very repetitive especially in recent years.
  2. Have you thought about renting ice in Erie and reaching out to other Pittsburgh teams to see if they would meet you there?
  3. Squirts are currently playing placement games. Higher levels the placement games were cancelled which pushes the "start" back a little, but the scheduling should be done for most teams now. Regular season games should start around November 1. I think most if not all teams have played some scrimmage/exhibition games by this point.
  4. Yeah I'm so sure this all happened on the ice and not a bunch of beer Leaguers drinking together before and after the game. I read the entire report and even they don't know if it happened before, during, or after the game.
  5. 2 weeks isn't that bad as long as they stick to it.
  6. While sports was specifically mentioned in the briefing yesterday the health department is starting to say what I have been telling yinz for a long time - the spread isn't from practice or games but from things like carpooling and sleepovers: https://triblive.com/local/allegheny-county-officials-attribute-slowed-covid-rise-to-mask-cooperation/ This is probably good news for sports. Quote: Bogen said the cases in schools are often spread through sports teams or other extracurricular activities, and often when the students interact outside of their practice or activity. “It appears more likely that the virus is spreading more at team dinners, at sleepovers, at playdates and at parties,” she said.
  7. Totally agree with this. I've been to one in Cleveland as well and it felt great. Most of the risk factors you have are things you can control pretty easily (how close you stand next to other parents, carpooling, what you do in the hotel) - I truly believe the hotel and cars are where most of the "sports related spread" would come from. Maybe locker rooms but there is always the option of dressing outside.
  8. Well maybe I was told wrong then. I heard neither Lebo or Spencer were allowing full rosters last night and that at Spencer they actually made some of the kids who were getting ready to play leave the building to keep the 25 person in place until today. I wasn't there but I'll see if I can verify.
  9. After the game? I prefer mine before the game. See who wants to check me then!
  10. Right. Not even two players where there may have been more context we don't know about.
  11. Lebo supposedly isn't letting any fans in even after the rule changes.
  12. That story is insane. Over a holding call?
  13. Just remember to focus more on the rating (as someone said above) than the ranking. The rankings will change wildly because many many teams had not yet played the five game minimum to be included in week 1.
  14. To my knowledge no, you do not need parental consent to treat or transport by ambulance in an emergency or injury situation.
  15. Just curious cause there are a lot of comments here recently about "waiting on your kids to get hurt". Unless you are an EMT or other medical professional (and there isn't another one there) what exactly are you doing that you wouldn't be doing in the parking lot? I should hope no one in here is a parent who would try to jump on the ice?
  16. I agree with everything said here. The more games a team has played and the more outside their own league the more accurate the ratings are. In general they are a great guide from January on if you are still able to do scheduling. It can help to look at last year's rankings for scheduling this year as well but you have to be cautious because players can change from year to year obviously.
  17. Are you able to guarantee full rosters and spectators? Is there a refund if not? Thanks!
  18. This is certainly interesting. Not sure if it would ever be large enough or practical for hockey but cool idea anyway. https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2020/09/30/kaufmanns-building-rooftop-ice-rink/amp/
  19. Anyway, things are getting back to normal in the hockey world. Hopefully we continue trending the right direction and we can have a real season.
  20. I think it's kinda the opposite (assuming there isn't a stay). I bet we get most of a season in and February ish things get called back (pending who wins the elections)
  21. I'm guessing the stay will be granted by the federal appeals court panel next week but I hope I'm wrong. That's the next step now that the judge who actually made the ruling denied the stay. If the panel rejects a stay we will be good until they rule on the case and st that pace probably not til next year so we should get the season in normally.
  22. Right on time! https://tribhssn.triblive.com/gov-wolf-legislation-to-allow-more-sports-spectators-will-be-vetoed-today/
  23. As Eddie has pointed out before, he is one of the people who has been directly impacted and harmed by the terrible policy choices that have been made by our governor. Most hockey people are lucky and don't have to do anything but teach their kids and work at home but he felt the brunt that millions of others in our state did. While the reply might have been a little crude, he's just tired of rich, unaffected crybabies talking about how good this shutdown crap has been because they live in their own little luxury bubbles. If you lost your job and most of your family income like millions of regular people because wolf is an @$#hat you might be angry too.
