  1. Lots of speculation about the cost for Duq and IUP. I will ask some players what they pay for a solid answer. I wouldn’t say that RMU is a better education either. Chatham is a good school academically. There could be.a million reasons for a transfer. Don’t think quality of education has much to do with this transfer.
  2. What is wrong with promoting the ACHA? It provides many different types of opportunities for kids that wouldn’t have them otherwise. Why do you care that they promote?
  3. I’d rather drive there before Alpha, Kittanning, New Ken, Delmont, YMCA, Mt. Lebanon or Ice Castle.
  4. Esmark has done a good job. Watched an Esmark kid last night on Pittsburgh Sports Met. And another Esmark kid just committed to RMU.
  5. Very good points. PIHL should definitely take the number of players that are in a program into account. And also losing a heavy senior class. Kiski is suffering because of it but they were not moved up in class. North Hills on the other hand was moved up after losing a number of seniors and their top two point scorers. I have seen it multiple times and it hurts teams tremendously when they lose so much talent and are moved up, or in some cases not allowed to move down after losing lots of players and top scorers. It is a real shame for kids that go through seasons where they win very few games or worse none at all. It happened to both my sons. One moved up after losing 8 seniors including the top two scorers and their only goalie and they had a five win season. Got blown out a lot of games early because they had no goalie other than a kid that strapped them on the year before. And the other son’s team also lost 8 seniors and their top three scorers and wasn’t allowed to move back down. Also struggled mightily and only won 4 or 5 games, and those wins were against teams that were in a similar position having lost a ton of seniors as well. There is so much information available to PIHL about what level these kids play at on amateur teams that it should be used as well. For instance this season, Shaler moved down in classification after adding two players from AAA teams that didn’t play for them last year. And they are not freshmen or sophomores. And now they are better than they were last year and still got moved down. Where as other teams lose a ton of talent and have been moved up. I think the system is very flawed.
  6. To be honest I am afraid to even watch it. I know that the kids and PIHL and PAHL better show up with their neck guards. It really is such a simple piece of equipment to wear.
  7. It isn’t geographic. Moon, Chartiers Valley and Avonworth are in a different section that Montour, West Allegheny and Quaker Valley when those districts actually border each other. The amount of travel added to all these teams is tremendous. And in my opinion absolutely stupid. Why divide teams that are natural rivalries? I think whoever was in charge of making the divisions did a real disservice to all those teams and their fans.
  8. Police are investigating. Hopefully you are wrong. Hopefully.
  9. Indiana is horrible also. Som played on a team that went there for a game. They tied 4-4. Mainly because they were shorthanded the whole game. Played them later in the year at home and beat them 14-1. Hardly any penalties either way. That is how much the refs effected the game. And the one point cost his team the regular season championship.
  10. I don’t know for sure because I haven’t seen enough games, but it seems to me that the blue division is weaker by a good bit.
  11. It happened and I am sure it continues even at the youngest ages and levels.
  12. Not pure coincidence, you are 100 percent correct. And it has been like that for many years. Absolutely disgusting.
  13. Anybody else having trouble with the ACHA website? I have been having issues accessing the site for a couple weeks.
  14. Ok so you don’t bash any PAHL or PIHl teams here. You absolutely bash every ACHA team around here.
  15. Got it, you think because the school is a party school, the team is no good. The correlation is right in front of my eyes. But in reality there is no correlation between the two. The article you posted has nothing to do with hockey. And nothing to do with IUP’s hockey team. Therefore I questioned why you posted it.
  16. What does this have to do with hockey? I’ll answer for you, nothing.
  17. You are correct. They will have a ton of high scoring games this year. And 10 goals a game might be the number to get a win!
  18. Meadeville and Montour battled in a shootout (9-7) last night. Both teams have potent offenses. Both should be contenders. But I think Shaler has to be the favorite after beating teams in higher classifications in the St. M tournament.
  19. But are you paying that kind of money with that kind of commitment? If not, the why do you care?
