  1. This is very possible and may be a good thing. Idk enough about both organizations but I have to think there is way too much pandering to creating travel hockey for kids who should only be playing in-house (soak up that money so you can brag about your kids game 3 hours away even if it is B hockey).

  2. Congrats to SHAHA. I'm sure that win felt good. I'm excited to see what #15 does in the future. This just goes to show you that there are no cut and dry answers to what clubs are "legit" AAA and what clubs are "faux" AAA. It's a team by team basis. If anyone doesn't think this SHAHA 06 team is legit AAA, I'm not sure what to tell them. That doesn't mean that every SHAHA and Preds AAA team is legit. This win is also not some confirmation that PPE is a terrible program.

  3. ppe 18 is alot of hype due to family at higher places. thats it. I would take shaha kid over ppe kid any day. shaha is just a hard ass working kid with rich parents but not alot of pull in places

  4. Just depends on how far you are willing to go to get competitive teams to play! I'm still not real sure of the rationale the Badgers used to go 16U Independent this year instead of playing a PAHL schedule and then all those independent games. Pretty sure Renegades, Wildcats, Preds, Rebellion and Arrows would give them good games in 16U AA PAHL this year.

  5. And the old windbags at MidAm will fiddle while the PAHL burns.

  6. This is a great thing for Mon Valley hockey, but I can't help but think this is another nail in the coffin for PAHL. Is there anyone that doesn't think Black Bear is going to be running the amateur leagues in Pittsburgh within the next year or two? Black Bear is very aggressive and PAHL cannot adapt fast enough.

  8. I talked to someone I consider absolutely reliable tonight. Apparently Rostraver management met with Black Bear representatives last week out at Delmont and signed the papers. As far as I can tell this is a done deal at this point, quite literally.

  9. Is Paul Taibi the coach ? If so - interesting fact - he coached a black team for PPE that beat the elite at MID AMS quit a few years back when the black teams were a thing. He also took PPE’s first year of 15u’s to the semi finals at Nationals. He develops players. Many are of the opinion he is the best youth hockey coach in the area.

  10. The Klasnick brothers. Dave who played at Denver and his brother Rob who played at St Cloud State. I’d be bothered if I didn’t also mention their father, Dave, who was on the USA hockey board for a while. What a great hockey family and great people.
