They are the 6th ranked Catholic School in the area. Add those public schools and it drops them even lower. Hey at least it's not in Troy Hill anymore.

I just watched a few minutes of that YouTube game, there are guys wearing white practice jerseys with numbers taped on the back, a couple of them could barely skate! It's impressive that even 100 people would come to watch that. I did see a fight though, so that could explain it.

Agree! Tons of overlap. I don’t know why orgs / coaches aren’t upfront & straightforward with kids. Yes, you have a spot on the team or time to look elsewhere. Seems easy enough.

Anybody know how 08 and/or 09 open skates or tryouts went this week? Interesting to see the player movement

higher level scouts for u18aa team? lol this isn't Chicago. highest level even looking would be a pay to play........

Especially considering there are 5+ public high schools in the area better than North Catholic. Pay extra to go somewhere worse?

As in most cases where profit is involved, the most profitable way to do something is what others follow. Not necessarily because it's a better way to do it.

Their summary just caught me up to speed in a couple of paragraphs… I think that’s what they call, “unintended consequences.” While attempting to point out problems without real solutions; the end result is actually galvanizing the topic at hand. Which doesn’t really make it go away…but only adds to its attention. In any event, I’d add to this by pointing out that other “developing hockey markets” in the states are trying to model their AAA programs similarly to PPE (or vice-versa). TPH has academy’s located in FLA, AZ, Tennessee, and several places in the Midwest (Michigan, Iowa, Ohio, etc) as well. I’m not sure if it’s sustainable. But, it is occurring in other regions in the country.

Semantics at this point. I'm referring to the point they signed a new contract with Alpha around 2020ish. I should have said "After" vs. "When". Regardless, I'm referring to the point in time we were fortunate to be asked to come aboard.
