  1. I'd recommend you copy and paste that quote a few more times. Seems you only posted it 3 times in the last hour and a true Montour backer would have put it up at least 5-10 times.
  2. Nice try, but if you look back through many of my posts ive actually leaned much more anti SV. Peters has the best run program/coaching and also has the player base to back it up. Cant imagine anyone knocks them off but I'd still like to see good competitive games. I'm probably a Peters parent as well according to you
  3. Most people seemed to believe the east was much stronger than the west in A, and it's certainly looking that way early on. Will be interesting to see what norwin does up in Erie. Have to think norwin is favored.
  4. Correct, but still upsets regardless. I think the SV one was big as they probably had they best shot to knock off peters based on their goaltending. But I watched most of that game and it was clear that SV was severely out coached.
  5. Couple of big upsets last night. Should be interesting to see how the rest of the first round plays out this week.
  6. The PIHL can't go by enrollment considering hockey isn't really a sport everyone can play(mainly for financial reasons). Going off enrollment alone Peters would always be AA despite the fact that they roll through AAA quite often. It would also put Wheeling Park (who is 0-20 in A) into AAA. I don't think the PIHL system is perfect, but it keeps the levels much more competitive than going off enrollment would for sure.
  7. No, the kid should get zero blame. The coach should get most of it and the board should also carry some.
  8. I do find the "he would be eligible in football or basketball and those are more popular sports than hockey" argument hilarious. The fact that you read other leagues rules but neglected to read the PIHL rules is insane. Can't wait for an NHL coach to sneak 11 guys on the ice and then argue it's not too many men because the NFL allows it.
  9. I checked into live barn and never really saw any on ice fights. Just a small scrum that lasted a few seconds. Maybe I was looking at the wrong part of the game, but certainly didn't seem to be anything that doesn't happen on a regular basis. Edit: just checked the video posted above and I was in the wrong part of the game. Still wasn't terrible though. I wouldn't have handed out any games.
  10. Now that you bring up tryouts it gets me thinking. If that goalie were to return to Esmark next year and go to Montour again, would he be eligible? Since the games got changed to forfeits would this year count as his year sitting out? I'd think yes, but don't know for sure.
  11. I think you are confusing anti-montour with anti-cheating. Most (not all) of the people thinking Montour should be out don't appear to have anything against montour other than their disregard for the rules.
  12. As much as I feel bad for the Montour players who were put in a bad spot by their coach/board, isn't it 10x worse to stop the playoffs and make all the kids from every team pay for it? Surely the Montour supporters here(who claim to not be parents) would feel terrible for all those kids from the 11 other schools missing out right?
  13. Sets a great example for the kids as well. Cheating is no big deal; just don't get caught. And if you do get caught, just take them to court!
  14. Yes we all know the truth. But the rules are clearly stated and laid out for everyone to read. While they might not be fair, everyone but Montour followed them. Any anger should be directed at the Montour coaches/board who either didn't understand the rules, or blatantly tried to deceive the league. The latter is the more likely scenario here by the way.
  15. The visas state that the foreign players are here for education, not hockey. Therefore PIHL's hands are tied on not letting them play. Which is why they make the team move up a level.
  16. Should have asked him to meet you at Southpointe. I know that's his favorite rink to drive to
  17. Flavio, you have posted the exact same thing 15 times in the last hour. We get it, you don't like the timing of when Montour got caught cheating. Move on.
  18. What I don't quite understand is why the Montour parents are directing their anger at the PIHL instead of at the Montour coach/board. If the coach/board are claiming they didn't know they were breaking the rules, then shame on them for not reading up. It's not like the PIHL rulebook is 500 pages, its a 66 page doc (and of the 66 pages about 15 are blank or index pages).
  19. I am not certain if this is why the rule is the way it is or not, but years ago Canevin would host the European players who came over to play for Esmark. They got challenged (I think by QV) on these players not being eligible as transfers. The lawyers for these European players threatened PIHL with lawsuits for preventing the players from playing when their visas clearly state that they are here for educational purposes. So even though everyone knows they are here for hockey first, since the visa lists education, PIHL couldn't stop them. No idea if thats exactly why the rules are the way they are today, but would make sense.
  20. Why don't you just list who you are and your resume. Clearly you want some praise.
  21. The craziest part of all is that the Montour parents don't even realize they are just adding fuel to this fire. Most things die down in here pretty quickly because when there is no back and forth argument there is nothing more to say. But for every new Montour parent who hops on here it sparks this thread back to life.
  22. I keep circling back to this and it makes me think nothing will happen. Once the lawyers get involved everything will get dragged out and PIHL will probably be forced to let things stay the way they are.
  23. I don't doubt that at all. It really would be a shame if the board ruined it for the players who likely could have been okay without pulling this stunt.
  24. According to the Montour parents here, none of them even care enough about HS hockey to bring a player in to win. Seems silly to all march down to Ice Castle for something you don't care about.
  25. I agree that the parents anger should be directed towards their own board. However, I'd think that had they went through the process the player would have been told he had to sit out this year. And then who knows where the team lands without him.
