  1. Better yet, when would you suggest they take place? It's your assertion that right now is "incredibly stupid" and I would say while it's certainly not ideal, when is?
  2. You should put your knowledge and free time to use on your organization's board to make things just right for your wants and needs.
  3. Peter the Pr@ck has a penchant for seeing things through Peter-colored glasses. For reference, you can refer back to the Plum-Moon end of game crap-show awhile back. In that one, it was all the Plum players and coaches fault. This one it's all Arrows. So... Peter is a parent of a player that involves those two teams so Hockey365 you can work from there to determine who he is.
  4. This isn't about the game itself. It's about a player or players being ineligible to play the Team's first game next weekend to now being eligible. You tell me, does MidAm/USA Hockey referee protocol allow for a call to be changed after the scoresheet is signed? As far as I know, it does not.
  5. There they are. Beetle dee and Beetle dum. Possibly the same person with different screen names. FuFu, it's too easy with you.
  6. Notes from the playoff weekend that will have an effect this coming weekend. The Southpointe/Indiana 18U game ended in a minor brawl which had multiple players from each team receive game misconducts. A couple of North Pittsburgh 16U players were assessed game misconducts following their loss and then for some unbeknownst reason (possibly Russian collusion/interference) the refs scratched them off of the sheet. Ironically, that game was held at Baierl. If this is true, shame on all parties involved.
  7. I don't know if I would agree with that. The exponential increase in the number of private instructors definitely coincided with the implementation of ADM. Before that there was IHC and a handful of others. Now, there are a handful at most rinks.
  8. Not at all. At 8U, the model is spot on but the model does not only involve 8U. The ADM itself spans the whole life of an amateur player from 4 or 5 year olds to 18 year olds. The flaws are in the over-emphasis of skills and lack of emphasis on mental training for game play at 10U-14U. You end up with a lot of 16 year olds who have no clue how to play in a team unit type of scenario.
  9. News flash. Lack of hockey sense is not isolated to Pittsburgh. It's a by-product of the ADM model along with an over-saturation of skills, skills and more skills. "Coaches" telling players exactly what to do on every drill and not allowing them any freedom to learn to read and react. Then they get in games and have to read and react and they are clueless. The scouts that you mention may say this about youth players, but they too are flawed as the college coaches say the same thing about the players in Juniors and pro scouts about players in college or high juniors. The parents who chase their dream for their kids are willing to spend endless amounts of money for a skills session are the same ones who thumb their noses at $20 for a pick-up game where the kid might actually learn something on their own.
  10. So nice to see that Karma made its way to Columbus at the 18U level. Although, you can rest assured that one of the at large bids was already in hand before the final buzzer even sounded.
  11. This all seems a bit fishy. Could it be that Culver has been infiltrated by the same folks who poisoned Aleksei Navalny?
  12. So that begs the question, is anything less than a full sweep considered a failure? Because Esmark seems to find a way recently at 18's and the 14's/15's are both vulnerable. 16's should be a foregone conclusion, but that's why they play the games. Just in case anyone wasn't sure, I'll be rooting for "The Field of 2-6 seeds" at all ages.
  13. Only if you have a level 3 Government clearance. MidAm is about as forthcoming with information as Jen Psaki.
  14. Pot and kettle? Glad to see my President is still living rent free in your tiny brain.
  15. I guess you've never had the pleasure of meeting Pa Hockey. Your question would be answered in 5 minutes if you had.
  16. Where would we be without this Super-sleuth? Oh yeah, we could just look at the PIHL standings.
  17. Responsibility for controlling stupidity on the ice chart. Player - has the ultimate control but has to be educated Parent - responsible for educating the player and holding them accountable and not for absolving them of blame Coach - same as parent but has the ability to keep them off the ice when stupidity looms Refs - last line of defense, can still educate but when necessary must remove players acting stupid from the game
  18. One day in the not so distant future, the parents will have chased away all of the Coaches, Referees and Administrators in youth hockey.
  19. For those who have Livebarn, take a look at the Gold rink at PIA on Saturday. Puck dropped at 3:00 but click the 4:30 segment to see a full 10 player brawl which resulted in no fighting majors nor game misconducts. It is a sadday4hockey
  20. Call your cards what they are, that whole pile of manure was the doing of one person. He took two respectable AAA organizations and bullied them into submission. The original intent was to provide his own little playground for his kid and all his buddies but that plan quickly morphed into something much more detrimental for Western PA hockey.
