  1. I'd sure like to hear from an Armstrong fan or Parent that thought that was OK. We need to send that clip to the Superintendent of Armstrong School District.
  2. The evidence is clear and undisputable. I would not let another team go into that rink as a visitor until this issue is dealt with by the PIHL and Armstrong. No place for that in High School Hockey. Maybe the Schools that Armstrong plays should refuse to go there until something is done.
  3. I might agree with that except Ringgold got beat by Elizabeth Forward last night and it wasn't close. So I will go: Carrick BishopCanevin Burrell Avonworth Elizabeth Forward For now. Big game Monday night Avonworth vs Burrell We will see how that goes.
  4. Thanks, Great job on the rankings. Will be keeping an eye out for the top ranked teams when they go at it. How often will you be putting these out? Some interesting rankings at AA, A & B. Too early to argue any of it.
  5. You do a great Job! Could you please include D-2 this year? Thanks
  6. When do the Tier 2 cuts happen? Any idea how much profit a Tier 3 team has at the end of the year? Just did some research into all this and it is very interesting. Amazing how many Tier 3 teams there are. A lot of kids still playing after High School. It looks like there is not a route straight to NCAA D-1 from High School. Much different from other High School sports. Why? From what I see it costs around 10,000 a year. Is that right?
  7. Why do they feel the need to block practices? No other rink I know of does that.
  8. Don't you think the majority of kids playing nowadays have parents who played hockey? I'll bet it's close to 75 percent. No facts just what I see. Mom's yell the loudest! Dad's get on the Refs more. Just my opinion!
  9. Interesting! Do you think those Parents, Parents were the same way when they were little? Is there any hope for this generations kids to be better sports parents or is this a self perpetuating phenomenon.
  10. Well that sure sounds like a tie in! Makes more sense why the Pens are involved I guess.
  11. I believe the actual date to open is closer to December. November 26th I read somewhere. I thought I heard that Central Catholic was going to use this rink for practice. Not sure if that is true but I think Central has some tie ins to the Pens.
  12. HAHA that would be pretty funny!
  13. Any word on this project? Is it still on schedule to be open in November? Haven't heard or seen anything!
  14. Not yet and most likely not! Haven't tried Preds, Icemen etc. But then again the only one that counts as AAA is PPE!!!!
  15. True but in that case you get what you pay for. Playing in PAHL is probably half the cost of the others. That's where private lessons etc kick in for kids and parents who want to aspire to higher levels. If I had it to do all over again I might start mine at PPE. But how do you know haw serious a child is going to be about hockey at 5 or 6 years old to travel to Cranberry when you can play down the street for fun.
  16. The regular season starts tonight. Glad to see that Pittsburgh Hockey Digest will be at 2 featured games. They do a great job with articles after the game and season info as we go. Looking forward to a great year. Hopefully without to many Covid interruptions. Good luck to all the teams.

  17. I got you but programs who do have all those things. Who does the best at developing players? I see the big 3 North Pittsburgh, Allegheny and SCIR. Then Preds, Mt Lebo and SHAHA all in no particular order. Is there historical data as to what orgs have won the most PAHL championships?
  18. Interesting, Who do you think are the organizations "making" players? Taking geography out of it who do you think does the best job of developing players?
  19. Wow, Somebody with some Hockey coverage. I couldn't find anything on line about this Tournament. Thanks for the coverage. I assume the final will be at Kirk Nevin and they have Live Barn.
  20. Wow, I see a lot of constructive points of view from people who have lived through it. Their points are valued by me for sure as my kid navigates through hockey in Western Pa. I give him advice and let him tryout where he wants. Has yet to make his first choice but it hasn't stopped him from trying. I know he's not going anywhere great but I hope he never loses his passion for the sport cause he sure has that.
  21. So what AAA teams would you let your kid try out for? Only Pens Elite? If he's not good enough to play for them just let him play PAHL? Could be hard to get a 13 to 15 year old that has been one of the better PAHL players to understand that. Especially when he sees all the kids he grew up playing with and against playing for the so-called FAUX AAA teams. This is all so interesting. Sure not like other High School sports.
  22. Does that mean you should stop them from trying? Shouldn't I let my player pursue his dream? As long as it's his dream? I don't think I should be the one to tell him he's not good enough. He needs to figure it out on his own. I would assume that's what happened to the kids whose parents are giving us advice on here. And maybe it never happened for kids like Sherry & Guetzel!
  23. I thinks you hit it on the head 100 percent!!! Thanks for the input.
  24. Thanks, great story, sounds like a well grounded kid. I am hearing more and more that you have to be willing to invest a lot of money to keep playing hockey at any level.
