  1. I agree U18 real AAA hockey is better than any tier 3 junior pay to play stuff such as the usphl, na3, wshl etc. regarding the young man at Mt St Charles - that is the top prep school in the states, it’s a much different situation than what we have in western pa. yes, I agree it is a rarity but you have to be coming from PPE or ESMARK (in that order). If someone thinks playing midget “AAA” at the predators or icemen is going to get their kid somewhere, I’ve got a bridge to nowhere they can buy and I’ll sell it much cheaper than what the faux AAA club will charge for a season.
  2. The kid is in the ushl as an 18 year old right now to further my point. He was playing for one the highest rated & scouted prep school teams in the states. During the 2019-20 season the kid made it all the way to the USA national team Camp before attending Mt St Charles. This player played “AAA” his entire youth hockey career, though a middle level north east AAA program but it’s in the north east, not western Pa. this kid didn’t come out of nowhere. When he was 16 he was called up for a few ncdc games. The local garbage usphl premier junior team doesn’t even get 19 year old kids (looks like zero this season) called up to the ncdc and they are an affiliate for one of the ncdc teams.
  3. To put it that way - any kid still playing U18 has a slim shot to play NCAA D1. The top players are in the the ushl, bchl and such by that age for the most part, but I did enjoy your mites commit comment ?
  4. 6 teams at U18 AAA now ? Did I hear this correctly ? folks PPE & ESMARK are the only AAA that matters in western pa, in that order. end of story. The proof is out there.
  5. No live barn video of the preds player kicking a armstrong player in the head ? This seems to be conveniently left out by the OP, or did I miss it in the above videos ? That’s an automatic match penalty still ? My kids were sent snap chat videos from one of their friends, watching while waiting for his game. Outside of an Armstrong player getting kicked in the head when he was down, the majority is the ridiculous parents. there is a preds mom with her “crew” screaming at refs, players, parents and what appears to be security when she got tossed. Prime example of what kind of parents not to be. Armstrong parents are not innocent, but this preds mom takes the cake. Parents drinking in the parking lot before games needs to be banned, I’m convinced there are some intoxicated people in these snap chats!
  6. Your statement is the problem, You are not playing the games, why be pissed off and out of line in the stands ? Let the players and ref’s deal with it. There was nothing “brutal” in any of the cross checks or hits. The biggest issue is the predators kid that was trying to throw haymakers and was tangled up with a ref. The Check over the boards appears to be a nice clean hockey hit from the angle shown. The high five thing was low class. If true about the predators parents actions during and after the game, there is no excuse for that behavior, the problem as I stated earlier, the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This is the second “brawl” posted in a month or so on this board and both involved the predators midget teams. Edit - sorry @Pucks11 My intent was not to attack you, I was more generalizing towards that kind of attitude a lot of parents bring to games.
  7. Two mediocre AA teams with nothing to play for. it appears neither team had a chance to make the championship game by the time this game started. I’m honestly not surprised it got ugly in the end. There was a similar situation posted on this board not long ago at U18 that also involved the predators and parents. This is what happens when disgruntled “my kid should have made the faux AAA team” delusional parents see the season come to end. I’m guessing the predators kid who was throwing the punches will be sitting next season. You can not touch a referee, PERIOD. The predators kid that tried to come in and blast someone from behind when the scrum started but missed, looks like a real idiot and is lucky he didn’t break his own neck! Yes, this stuff will happen with testosterone midgets from time to time but the parents ? It’s inexcusable. The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
  8. Wow the mid site is awful to navigate. I can’t find any of what you posted.
  9. One of those guys that always has to be right ? jealousy ? His kid can’t make ppe or esmark ? I’ve called out the faux aaa teams at times, I assume that’s his hard on for me. It’s the internet, who really knows or cares.
  10. As stated before, I honestly don’t care about your hard on for me. faux AAA is faux AAA. My youngest is a 2002, you should know this since you like to stalk me. 2003’s play with 2002’s. His school team Last year had some good 2004’s and 2005’s. Sorry we have friends, it appears to bother you. we will find out how true it is in a month or so.
  11. No, in the end, there will be 18 more kids lined up to fill that predators team. Western pa will end up with 3 faux 18u / 16u teams, sitting at the bottom of the district. Four if Mt Lebanon continues, though I heard they may be going back to tier 2. If true, that’s more than likely why the vengeance just came out with these teams, looking for the strays that will still pay the money.
  12. I’ve heard the 05 predators are moving from ice castle to alpha, if true, that would be next years 16u team. I would be really surprised if they manage to get an 18u team together, the vengeance would have to bring in a reputable coach. The Icemen & predators already have the faux AAA titles on lockdown.
  13. 18’s - Number 2 Culver withdrew, they are replaced by the Barons.
  14. He’s a good skills guy, decent coach. He made a bad decision years ago.
  15. These spring “AAA” programs are still around ? I remember when Posey had the outlaws. Nothing against the coaches, these programs are just summer ice sales. Put your own team together for half the price if your kiddo wants to play in the spring / summer - the tournaments will take anyone.
  16. I was asking a question, has the landscape changed much ? You didn't have to play defense for your team. Burrells team was pretty good a few years ago, that’s not the norm. “B” from what I recall, every season was always a race between two teams. This thread makes it sound as though nothing has changed.
  17. if much hasn’t changed with Varsity hockey over the years - the top teams in “B” could not compete with teams from “AAA” & “AA”
  18. Honestly, this is a the college culture in general. Personally I think your comment is out of line a bit. Picking up pucks has always been a “rookie” thing from juniors down to varsity hockey. I see nothing wrong with it. When I was a kid playing pony baseball around the late 70’s early 80s I had to pick up the bats after practice. It’s the pecking order of life, we all see it in our careers as adults in some manner.
  19. Not completely knowing the hazing facts makes it hard to to judge but what I’ve heard the hazing incident happened at a party not during any hockey time. This is hearsay from a kid we know who is a freshman and chose slippery rock so he could play hockey, he stressed to us that he himself doesn’t know all the facts, it’s what he was told by the older players, the party involved a frat the school has not been happy with, one that the school have been wanting to remove. Again, this could be wrong, he’s only a freshman this year but I suspect the older players have a good idea so maybe it’s not to far off. Kids will always twist the story a little their favor. four years sounds ridiculous. That will be the end of that program. It sure does sound like the school was after a frat or the hockey program, whom ever made this judgement at the school clearly wanted hockey and whomever they are associated with gone.
  20. it really wasn’t, I argued with the guy enough, also found out why he left and wanted everything deleted. Point was in real life, he knew who I was and my kids.
  21. Stop in the sheets at 10-11pm pre covid... they installed black lights in the bathrooms to stop people from shooting up.
  22. Futures draft, didn’t play in the ushl. Made a nahl team at 17 decided he wanted to move on with his life and go straight to college. Some people here know who I am due to taking about him loosely, the old king if you were around knew who my son was. Don’t need street cred, my kids don’t play anymore.
