Some of the billet families also have kids on the team. Not sure about this one but I know some esmark kids also billet in Peters with other kids on the team.

Out of curiosity what is the makeup of a typical ACHA program? Do they recruit you before you apply to the college or.are there walk-ons for the team? If it's mixed, what is the percentage who just walk on after they choose a college?

Are you including tuition at North Catholic and Excel in there?

If I understand correctly (and I may not) there are specific charters out there for PAHL teams? Are the huskies one? (No clue) are they and/or the new "viper"stars AA teams going independent? Could be a big impact on PAHL here but curious if anyone can clear that up for me.

Again give me a general direction you are coming from and I'll guide you. It's very easy from the west (79). From the east I can give you the side streets but whatever? Tell me how to get to alpha and New Ken (maybe worse is Allegheny Badgers out 376) at rush hour and we can call it even.

For all you people struggling to get to the YMCA or Ice Castle message me where you are coming from and I'll send you the side streets to avoid the crap traffic ? I don't know if it's just because I live here but there are about a dozen alternatives and I don't go anywhere that takes me on 19 or 88 they are pretty easy to bypass. If someone can do the same and tell me how to bypass 28 and save time I'll send you some Venmo bucks.

I'm not quite sure I know enough about either of them at all levels but from what I've seen/heard (at least post peewee) SHAHA and Esmark both have better coaching than PPE overall. That might change at U18 but even then seems like Esmark is outperforming PPE?

Today I learned a guy traffic engineer from Greensburg is upset esmark might practice half their games at Printscape Arena to make it more convenient for the rest of Pittsburgh but lost his mind about it. Have fun driving the horrors of 79 next year.

My favorite part is if I punch PIA and Printscape in from the center of his home town it still says Printscape is 5 minutes closer ?

I looked at a few - drive times at peak hour (Google Maps lets you do it, however it gives a big range, sometimes as much as an hour for the drive to New Ken because 28 is a cluster): New Ken: 55 min Seneca and NA 1 hr 10 Lebo 1 hr 25 Moon 25 min Fox Chapel 1 hr 40 Bethel 1 hr 25 TJ 1 hr 15 Sewickly 25 Delmont I would roughly draw a line around the city of Pittsburgh and everything North and East of the Rivers would be closer to New Kensington. That makes Printscape (at peak traffic time) closer for the two largest programs (North Pittsburgh and SHAHA) and a huge swath of the top high schools and highest level PAHL programs. Badgers, People who live in Fox Chapel, and Westmoreland would be the exceptions. Even TJ was way closer to Printscape. Also, as I mentioned, the drive times from the high schools/ice rinks in the area to Printscape were generally between 25-35 minutes anywhere south of the city and maxed out around 45 minutes from Seneca and North Allegheny. Myabe you live in Westmoreland County?

Someone good with Google maps could probably spit out the driving times for us to the rinks because I think you are nuts.

Go around 88. Depending on where you live it isn't hard to avoid. Same with 19.

If I was speed racer I'd go 85 with everyone else on 28 when there isn't traffic and then I might be wrong ?

I live in South Hills now and it has never taken me more than 20 minutes to get to Ice Castle, YMCA, Lebo, RMU, or Southpointe but maybe I bought the perfect house. I think without mapping it I can get to Baierl, Pens, Beaver, Rostraver, Alpha, Armory, Allegheny Badgers, Wheeling, and Butler Valley in less time. Am I forgetting any?

Great move. I actually assumed he isn't but I agree with you 100% unless he is another coach Yuri I've never heard of ? /sarcasm/ look out for that @Jack Handey guy too. I used to have a book he wrote back in the day with witty sayings and I don't believe it's actually him.

I'm thinking Flavio should make their user name North Hills Dad but yes PIA is an awful place to drive and I'm sure they lose talent by being there. Splitting may or may not help and we could debate if Printscape is the right place to be but that's like saying people should drive to Cleveland and play for the barons (heck that might be closer than New Ken for some of us and less likely to get mugged)

Is North Pittsburgh still an in-house only mite program? I always thought that was a great idea instead of chasing the dream at 6 years old and driving all over the place.

I actually think Ice Castle would have a chance to be a competitor but they would need to totally scrap and revamp their program. What they are doing now is producing very few competitive teams and they really don't seem to develop the players at all (from what i can see from the outside). I know several people who have been on (several different) teams.there 3-5 years who constantly complain about it. Still not sure why they continue to go back but I almost never hear anything good.

Speaking of which, looks like another year the second sheet isn't really happening at Printscape?

My buddy said Conway still doing skills with Cliff Loya and the birthyear SHAHA teams.

What happened to Ray Conway? I thought he always coached at PPE too but suddenly gone.
