I'd like to see a local "AAA" tournament with some PAHL AA teams sprinkled in and see what the results were. I bet, especially at the younger levels, PAHL would be more competitive than others think.

I always wondered - is it a legal requirement for non-profit hockey associations to have public tryouts?

This has been a fun tourney in the past for some of our local teams.

I'd be curious as to specifics on this. No experience with playing pens black teams but curious what the details are? Minor teams playing aa mixed teams or really PAHL teams the same age beating them?

Could anyone with actual experience and knowledge about the topic tell us about the overall status of girls hockey in the Pittsburgh region? Number of teams in PAHL? Competitiveness? Does it dwindle as the girls get into older age groups?

Risky for whom? They have to find ice time to rent just like organizations "with a home". Not sure who is taking the risk or why it matters if they spread out across several rinks? If there were risk involved it seems to be for the individual players who chose to play there not for PAHL.

Isn't one of those teams the 08 Vengeance team (who won the squirt AA playoff last year) trying to "play up"? They are rostered in PAHL under Ice Renegades.
