Jersey change and non-parent Coach and still the same results. You want to talk about a group who think they all have the next NHL player, that's the group.

I'm not sure how much D1 hockey schools are scouting any Jr League other than USHL and the majority of those players are already committed. They are committing players so young now (although I think they finally addressed that recently) or there are some players who develop later that they are just watching those few. What will be interesting is to see how the many commitments of recent local players actually pan out. PE had quite a few at the 02 and 03 levels and some of those have already not panned out.

Exactly!! And those players aren't at that level because those "tenders" are handed out like Halloween candy to NAPHL players. That league is weak. At best.

And in another week, you'll be be able to go to those teams websites which tendered each of them and see that most if not all will have been cut and looking for a place to play. A Tender doesn't mean anything other than you don't have to pay to tryout. EVERY team in the NAHL is required to tender a specified number of NAPHL players each season. I don't know what that number is but if you look at the quality of most of the other teams in the NAPHL, it's no surprise that Esmark gets a lot of those tenders for their players. They consistently have of the top teams in the 18U age group each season.

I assume the initial rankings will be released on Wednesday. So at the Tier 1 level, how many? 13U and under parents will stay up all night waiting for them to be released? How many 14U and older teams will have their seasons come crashing down? Hello Icemen? Preds? Others?

I believe it's called Capitalism. It's this novel and now frowned upon concept of providing what the paying customer wants or needs and is willing to pay for.

Speaking of tournaments, has anyone registered for any Hockeytime events in Pittsburgh this season? If so, you may be inclined to contact them and see what city they plan to ship you off to instead of Pittsburgh. The reason being that several teams that I know families with players on, had their event next weekend moved to different cities such as Detroit, South Bend and Cleveland. It's also been rumored that the Black Bear group will not sell them any ice in town so do your due diligence.

I mean we're all alleged adults and we do what we do on here in regard to a youth sport. It could all be construed as silly. Look over here everyone, look what we're doing for diversity in hockey. Pay no mind to the 10 years and counting for those folks who were told the old Mellon Arena site would be redeveloped to help their community. You think they care about an ice rink that's 3 bus rides away? Me thinks they'd much rather have what they were promised.
