  1. Yes, I did. That is a fact. Yale Bulldogs are an amateur team NOT a Prep team. Esmark and PPE, amateur teams. Gimour and Shady Side, Prep teams. All of the Yale amateur players play at their Prep schools after their amateur season ends in early November. Do you understand the difference between amateur teams and Prep School teams?
  2. That is also incorrect information. Yale Bulldogs, along with many other New England amateur teams such as Neponset Valley, Eastern Mass Senators, Northern Cyclones and on and on are all split season teams comprised almost entirely of players from New England Prep school and HS teams. They play all of their games prior to the start of their HS seasons and they have even already crowned their representatives for Nationals in the Massachusetts District and the New England District during the second weekend in November. So...... Hockey1 and Reg, before you come on here spewing the amount of incorrect information that you spew, you should take some time to educate yourselves just a little bit. https://www.mahockey.org/18ut1nb1920 Oh, and by the way Reg, I'm pretty sure that Yale is a University. It is also a youth hockey organization with both located in lovely New Haven, CT.
  3. And there you have it. Nice job on your information Hockey1, you are obviously very well informed.
  4. Fafa, you have a serious issue with SCIR and Alpha. What gives? Shouldn't your major concern be with the Iowa caucus today?
  5. If this information is actually factual, then it is NOT A PREP TEAM. By definition, a Prep team IS comprised of players that all attend the school for which the team is NAMED. If this is the case, why don't they just call it Morehouse Academy at UPMC and they can all just sit around and make it rain? Even the pioneers at this charade, Selects Academy at South Kent used the school name. North Catholic must be desperate for money.
  6. This will probably get me in trouble but it just seems so appropriate.
  7. At 18U, some players are aware that there really is no next level for them other than ACHA or D3. There is something to be said for their insight and also for the fact maybe being a "grinder" on the better team is more fun because they win more games. Even at the U16 level at PPE, the 3rd and 4th liners are not getting near as much scout attention as the top 6 and if you really believe that THEY are rolling 4 lines....... you're sadly mistaken.
  8. The Prep team will replace the current 18U team. They are barely fielding one team this year, how will they possibly field 2 next year? Would anyone possibly consider their "second team" over Esmark 18U? No way considering they are currently choosing Esmark over the 1st team in many cases.
  9. Does anyone on here realize what this is actually being built for? This will be the home of the Excel Academy - part 2 in conjunction with Central Catholic HS.
  10. https://990finder.foundationcenter.org/990results.aspx?990_type=&fn=penguins+foundation&st=PA&zp=&ei=&fy=&action=Search Over half a million dollars went from the Penguins Foundation to the PPE over the last 3 years. I guess this the "tax shelter" of which was referenced above. You couple this with whatever the Dick's sponsorship amount is and one has to wonder how and why the fees continue to rise.
  11. I really don't think that they are having the 18U Prep plus another 18U team or 16's and 15's for that matter. The numbers just are not there to support it at 18U age group. It will be extremely interesting though to see how many imports will show up for tryouts now and also how many local kids will be willing to change High Schools going into their Junior or Senior years. And as for the premise that the PPE as a whole will be joining the UAHL, not sure about that either. That league is only 14U Major and above. I think they already have their structure set up exactly the way they want it with the 4Clubs and Northeast Pack. Right there, they cover ALL of their bases as far as getting themselves and their players in front of scouts in all of the hotbeds. Why would they go back to watering it down? I think the UAHL is other clubs attempting to stay in the game so to speak.
  12. Members 117 152 posts Report post Posted November 13, 2019 No, it is what a bloated four time bone spur draft dodger calls “the perfect” scenario. keep the politics out of this son - that’s what Twitter is for. Your rule, not mine.
  13. Have they renamed it the Rohrich Predators yet?
  14. Have you researched the other teams and the competition level that they provided? Other than NA, that is. That's a complete soiling of the bed on their part. West A had 4 of their 5 games finish in OT or shootout. That's an exciting run of games for them that I'm sure they'll always remember. Latrobe often tends to play well in events like this and St Margaret's. Both these teams along with Baldwin look like the main contenders in AA.
  15. There is definitely an overt action by the coach who Rock has highlighted. That left shoulder is the key.
  16. Can't disagree with that. It's a societal issue that everything always has to be someone else's fault.
  17. The match penalty is obviously not for holding. It's for removing the helmet of another player. The hierarchy of responsibility for a player's actions on the ice go like this. Period. 1. Player 2. Parents 3. Coaches 4. Officials
  18. Such a sad day for you. Living so vicariously through your kid's 12U team. And yet, it was not so long ago that you arrived on the scene telling everyone else on here how much you knew about youth hockey and where they should play, how to spend their money to take lessons and from whom and so on and so on.
  19. I can name a couple but you'll have to PM me for the info because the organization involved has a history of being able to circumvent the 1st amendment.
  20. The "rankings" do not support that statement. Esmark is far ahead at 18U this year.
  21. And one says to the other "let's get started early this year"
  22. Settle down, tough guy. It's called a joke. I didn't realize you were the joke police, dad.
  23. I believe this is what the bleeding heart liberals call Quid Pro Quo isn't it?
  24. It's okay at the Jr Levels of NCDC and Premier with NCDC being "tuition free" and Premier being full pay to play. However, at the 15U-18U levels it's a complete mess due to the number of Prep schools in New England and the split-season teams and so forth. There is a youth component for 14U and younger but it's not great either. There are 1 or two top 40 teams in each age group but the Boston Jr Eagles set the standard in New England and in the country.
