fafa fohi Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 St. Marg's starts this week but it has been rather quiet leading into this tournament. With the expansion of the field where there are now six divisions of four teams in each, who are the favorites? I know graduation could take a top tier team from last year to a middle of the pack team the following year. https://www.pihlhockey.com/page/show/8642167-2024-sm-fall-face-off-2024-st-margaret-fall-face-off-
aaaahockey Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Also really hard to say because some teams use this to play JV and Varsity players and some take it really serious and play to win. Without knowing each teams strategy it's really hard to guess.
Icebucket Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Any word on if tenband will broadcast any of the games? They do a great job 2
dazedandconfused Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 We'll see what happens on the ice. As for off the ice, if your team plays at 7 or 9 on Thursday or you have to attend one of these meetings............................... you should probably either leave tomorrow or park in town and take the T. Too bad Vic Cianca is no longer with us. September 5th (Thursday) Ice Castle Arena 990 Castle Shannon Blvd, Castle Shannon PA 15234 Registrars – 6pm – 7pm Team Managers – 7pm – 8pm Coaches – 8:15pm – 9:30pm 1

They commented this on PIHLs post, so my guess is they will broadcast starting during the QF's "Good luck to all of the teams ! We will see you all in the quarterfinals !" 1

dazedandconfused Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Bigger surprise? PR giving up 7 or NA getting shutout?
Carl Racki Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I like Lebo or Seneca. Franklin will be interesting to watch.

dazedandconfused Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 PIHL missed the boat by not having SV and CC open the festivities against one another.

Lol, love to know the possibly one disgruntled board member you know, or which one you were. I'm speaking from being in the room for 6 years, were you in the room? If so, you were the minority cause your little johnny didn't get what you wanted. Sit down and until you tell me you were in the room, you are going off of rumors. aaaahockey Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Seeing as SV won 10-0 tonight they must have done something right.

zam Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Looks like a D2 school knocked off a team from AA, (recently AAA). I didn't think D2 was real hockey, it was just a bunch of kids padding their stats, can someone confirm?

Might be a long year for them in AA.
