Since that day, LaSalle added 5 more titles for a total of 7 and sits on the doorstep of tying Meadville for the most Pennsylvania Titles all time. The Explorers domination of the Flyers Cup and Pennsylvania has had its share of setbacks, but coach Wally Muehlbronner will join rarified air with a successful title defense. Pine Richland earned a trip to the Final with wins over Bethel Park, Peters Twp and North Allegheny and emerged out of a lomg jam in the PIHL. The Rams have 3 Pennsylvania Crowns and are seeking their first at the Class AAA Level. Richland has scrapped and battled all year in a very competitve PIHL and has not faced a team with the depth of LaSalle, History will be made as the Explorers will earn # 8 with 4-2 victory over the Rams. TJ is looking for their 4th overall title and first in 24 years while Pennridge seeks its 2nd in 3 years. Both these teams have dynamic offenses scoring 23 (Thomas Jefferson) and 32 (Pennridge) in the playoffs. Neither school has been involved in a close game in the playoffs and I give Pennridge a slight edge in goaltending after the Rams yielded 52 shots to rival CR South. The Jaguars have knack for scoring big goals at critical times and have a lot of firepower. This Title Game is likely to come down to depth and who can outlast who as I expect a high scoring affair and Thomas Jefferson to prevail 5-4. The Colts were erroneously placed in the PIHL Blue Division with a developing JV and Middle School in the program, the roster looked promising with only 7 Seniors and a talented group of underclassmen. With a favorable schedule, CV reeled off 20 wins and no losses and entered the playoffs to play spoiler and ruin the party for the supposedly superior PIHL Gold Division. With a hard fought win over #2 Indiana and cinderella Greensburg Salem in a dramatic overtime affair, Chartiers Valley brought visions of the 1986 State Champs into the discussion and sits one game away from a coveted 2nd State Title. The challenge ahead is that Eastern Pa has a stranglehold on the Pennsylvania A Title since 2012. The good news for Western Pa is that Rustin and West Chester East are out of the picture as the holder of ten straight Class A Championships. Hershey became the first CPIHL School to win the Flyers Cup after 4 tries of falling short of the Pa Title game. The Trojans impressively have outscored the opponent 15-2 in three playoff games and appear ready to seize their first State Crown. I expect both teams will be ready and hopping to flex their style of play on this title game. Both teams have excellent defensive units and goaltenders that have yielded less than a goal a game. Hershey seem to have a few gamebreakers more than Char Valley. I like Hershey in barnburner 3-1 to claim their first Pennsylvania Title.

Maybe TJ goalie or defense wasn't so hot but I don't think it was a hot goalie judging by the score. How many shots did Pennridge have?
Icebucket
One of the the top TJ players took a 5/game for spearing halfway through. Seemed to be a huge turning point as they gave up two on that kill, then didn't have their leading scorer for the back half.

stickboy
If I was a TJ parent/fan/coach/player (which I’m not), I’d be disgruntled about the game misconduct call given to their leading scorer half way through the game. Refs called it spearing and gave 5 and game for what looked like a love tap after being crosschecked. Would be interesting to know where the ref is from.
