Partially correct icechumpket-

Nobody would cheat by billeting kids, who are obviously billeting for aaa hockey, just so they can play HS hockey.  But why would they not be upset about a group of kids not being able to compete for their school?  It’s about the kids.  Kids play sports to compete.  That’s why parents were upset- kids were robbed of their right to compete.  Talk about not letting it go…

I was simply trying to point out how people are quick to jump on the "nobody cares about HS hockey theme". HS hockey isn't an overly high level here, but the kids still care a ton (even the AAA ones). If you watched any of the hockey over the past 2 days it's pretty apparent that the AAA guys were out there to play and not just going through the motions.

A year or two ago,  I don’t remember when really, someone outed puckcovid here. The posts were deleted, they had real names in them or something of the sort. Peppridge Farms remembers.

if I recall correctly, he lives in SF district, his kid never played varsity. he sent him away to a usphl “junior” team that folded. He hates SF for whatever reason.

you won pens cup, didn't win states , settle down!! Armstrong outplayed them most of them, got 2 lucky bounce goals.......  see what you do on Saturday vs a very strong Philly team!!

Easy there snugglemuffin! If you want free tickets for SF to decimate your filthidelphia butterbisquits you sure are failing miserably. Maybe ask nicely & we can give you a little ?….. ?

Lets also not overinflate the meaning of a state title because it really is meaningless in hockey.  Its not like PIAA football or basketball where you play your league playoffs and then have a whole other series of playoffs to win the title and truly be declared the best.  In hockey it is literally one game of east vs west.

Thanks captain obvious. Like comparing a priest to pornstar. Maybe they play 2 more games because there are more football & basketball teams than hockey teams. I assume your not a brain surgeon huh? Let me know when your next thought of the day is ready I can’t wait to see what you have next.

I'm just really disappointed that no one is talking about D-2 Hockey!  The Ringgold, Canevin game was probably the best of the finals.  Didn't even get a write up in the paper.  It's like it doesn't exist.  I commend those  12 schools for trying to have a Hockey program for the kids. Even if they don't have enough from one school.

I watched all 4 final games on Trib-Live.  They did a great job.  From what I saw D-2 was very competitive.  Not as deep as the other Divisions.  But to not even get a mention in the paper is sad.  Who ever knows Keith Barnes from the Post Gazette should ask him why he doesn't cover D-2.  PA Hockey do you know him?

Oh and good luck to Canevin at the High School Hockey Nationals.  I hope they represent SWPA well. Probably won't hear about any results unless you look.

Couldn’t agree with you more. While I want all divisions celebrated & they are. The D2 division is rarely mentioned. They are also left out of the Steller 6 typically. I think ut is because it’s a group of schools playing together but it’s not the kids or parents fault hockey is expensive. I also agree about the D2 final game. There is a kid on the Ringold team that should

make the steller 6. If you are really picking the top 6 & what they mean for the teams he is a lock hands down. Let’s see if it happens. Great post.

Keith Barnes: kbarnes.pg@gmail.com

I think anyone interested in D-2 coverage should send an email to Mr Barnes and ask him why he doesn't cover D-2 or recognize them in any way.  Is he responsible for the Stellar 6?

PA Hockey, the Stellar 6 will have a surprise if the player from Ringgold isn't included. Just because he plays in D-2.

Many of you may remember me complaining about the same. D2 tends to be out of the limelight and it has everything to do with perception. Hopefully that changes. It my not be deep but the top five or six are good good hockey teams.

FYI Pa Hockey Scholastic Showcase

Armstrong 9 Ringgold 1

Latrobe 8 Canevin 0

TJ 3 Canevin 1

Penn Trafford 7 Ringgold 1

Just compare sometimes ?

But is that fair. I’m not saying team to team that D2 would compete up. It’s similar to other sports with player pool. All I say is the coverage should exist at more of a level than it is. Just because of majority of the times aren’t in the north or south hills doesn’t mean they aren’t good programs. Do we ignore A football because it wouldn’t compete with 6A?

My  Picks were

89 SF - POY

4 NA

77 USC

85 Norwin

30 Armstrong

28 Peters Twp

So what makes you pick 28 over 18 for PT? Especially if you say "just compare sometimes" Comparing stats you would have to go with 18

If you watch them play, it's clear 28 is the guy. 18 is very good as well, just tough when you are limiting it to 6 across all schools.

Just speculating here, but hard to believe 28 doesn't land in the USHL or NAHL next season. 18 will probably return to peters and likely be in the stellar 6 next season.

Neither SF or Armstrong are that good tbh. I’m sure this will catch a lot of butthurt responses but they won’t be good enough to compete for a state title.

Hey Stinky Beaver....wanna rephrase this one perhaps? Your analysis of HS hockey squads in WPA stinks as bad as your Beaver.

SF-89

PT-28

CP-74

NW-85

G-CC or SV tough call

My guess

4 from NA has to be in this list. Hands down one of the best skaters in PIHL. Top defenseman by far in the league. 74 CP is definately right behind him. 4 is the total package.
